RNEG on Partner 09

Post by marroko »

Hi everyone!

Thanks for all the information on this forum!

I have a Partner Tepee 09 with RNEG and I wanted to know if it's in any way possible to have two things:

1. Trip computer

2. Bluetooth streaming

I know that about bluetooth maybe the only option is to connect a bluetooth streaming box to the aux but the trip computer I would really love to have. Is there any way to activate it so I can see it in the display?

If this is not possible, if I change to a newer unit like the eMyway would it be possible to have it there?

Thanks people!!

Have you pressed MENU MODE until the trip computer info is displayed?

No Bluetooth streaming on this possible, but you can use a simple wire free option using FM transmission like this:

Sorry I meant MODE button, I've been dealing with 3 other issues concerning different units today  . It will cycle between functions (Radio, Map, Nav (if navigation is in progress), Telephone (if being used) & Trip Computer).

If I press the mode button it will only change between radio and map and then screen off.

The RNEG version fitted to the Partner omits this info from the owner manual, so no, it's not able to display Trip data in this case. This particular unit was badly put together to be honest as other features like playing MP3 files from the SD card slot also don't work - a bit of a disaster by all accounts.

It doesn't make any sense. A car with all the bells and whistles, GPS and all that and then not having that. Any way to make it work?

As far as I can tell (and I can't be certain without your VIN) your trip option is this!:

Isn't this just to record the number of km in a trip?

I tried to do that, I have two buttons there (one seems to be only for the brightness of the panel). I pressed the other one and a countdown appeared, it seems the only thing it did was reset the service number of km.

There's 2 things here using the same button - so don't get them confused.

1) There's the service maintenance reset if you do your own servicing. The way you reset this is to:
- switch off the ignition,
- press and hold the trip recorder reset button,
- switch on the ignition.
The display begins a countdown. When the display shows "=0" , release the button and the spanner disappears.

2) Trip Recorder Reset: Switch ignition on and hold until it zeros.

So yes, it is a basic trip recorder function I'm afraid.

Yeah I got that now! Thank you anyway.

My question is if it would it be possible to have the trip computer (fuel comsumption, etc.) changing the radio unit or that would be impossible to have in this car?

No, not available as the Head unit can only display the information it gets from the other systems. If that info is absent it can't display it and in this case you only have a rudimentary trip recorder not the full trip computer it would seem. You can of course get some trip data when using the navigation system.

You should have the distance to destination and miles covered etc. shown on the screen when using it and a trip is active.

Thanks so much man! And it wouldn't be something that can be activated connecting the car to a machine?

It should be there already. Try planning a route using navigation. Then use the left hand stall on the steering wheel and press the end button in. Each time you press it the info should change on the display.
