Re: Classic for under £10K
Agreed, the rocker cover is tasteless in the extreme.
Some nice old bits in the engine bay, like the dynamo and its RB340 regulator box, and a huge brake servo.
Flappy seat belts and not a head-restraint in sight .

Anglia Car Auctions appear to have got their act together and added to their presentation on the back of online auctions. So on their youtube channel there are a series of videos of the cars in their upcoming auction June 20th.

couple of examples
A yellow Stag
And an odd Frenchy and after seeing the video warts and all that one would have to be very very bargain basement money to take on.

Not my best work by a long way but it was a rush job and it gives the idea I was talking about:
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Do you know Ware Garages Ltd Mick, they are selling a 1980 MGB which was used by the chairman , and is now up for sale at Anglia Car Auctions on June 20th with only 6,000 miles on it.
Posted it up on the MG thread but details are here

Re: Classic for under £10K
The Stag needs a fair bit of TLC to bring it up to show condition too. Dash looks dull, seat bolsters need sorting, engine needs dressing and not sure if the rad has been upgraded but if not that will need doing too and the rear block connector. The coil works much better if raised and mounted on the rear bulkhead to keep it out of the engine heat stream. Offside sill needs sorting and a couple of blemishes in the chrome to remedy. As it stands I would not pay more than £10500 if the rad has been done or £10k without.NewcastleFalcon wrote: ↑27 May 2020, 21:14 Anglia Car Auctions appear to have got their act together and added to their presentation on the back of online auctions. As for the 17 not my area of expertise at all. I've only owned 3 renaults in my life, an Espace 2.0 TXE, a Fuego 1.6 GTS which I bought to rally when I wrecked my RS2000 and needed a car for a road rally the following week, and a Clio 1.4 RT 5dr. I believe my Fuego was the replacement for the 17 coupe as the shapes are similar. I remember the big thing about the Fuego was that it was the first car designed in a wind tunnel and Renault made a big thing of its drag factor!! My memory of is easily summed up in one word.....................

Yes I know of them but I have never been there. Shame it has the rubbers but we've already been there today!NewcastleFalcon wrote: ↑27 May 2020, 21:25 Do you know Ware Garages Ltd Mick, they are selling a 1980 MGB which was used by the chairman , and is now up for sale at Anglia Car Auctions on June 20th with only 6,000 miles on it.

It will be interesting to see the price it fetches, as will the Stag from my point of view.

Spendid! In contrast to some of the hundreds of tatty and groaning - but still running - examples down here, beloved by farmers and growers.

Hope it has a towing bar fitted so you can take a fuel bowser around with you.

Re: Classic for under £10K
If this car had had an auto gearbox I would have bought it and not be posting it up here. But as I can't own a manual I thought maybe there is another Xedos enthusiast on the forum who might be interested. I loved the one I had and would love another one day, very close to the C5!!!

Interesting enough at the start of the sales results here from Silverstone Auctions of their on line sale, then it descends into the unattainable, and from my own viewpoint less interesting vehicles on offer. You see a lot of BMW and Mercedes on auction listings which I always just skip past.
So the interesting bit for me....Well number one from Jowett, then a yellow ford granada coupe took my eye, and theres a couple of Frenchies in the first few listings too..
I'll bring forward into the body of the kirk the Citroen Ami 6 which went for......
Well you'll have to view the list to find out

I can't believe someone gave £19250 for a Nissan Patrol and presumably someone else £40k for an XJS V12, that'll please Zel!!NewcastleFalcon wrote: ↑30 May 2020, 19:25 Interesting enough at the start of the sales results here from Silverstone Auctions

Re: Classic for under £10K
You're not still thinking about gibbo's random car covered in snow outside his mates house? I've had to give up on that oneobviously I haven't but wish I had just cant turn up anything with the same characteristics. dont laugh...i even had a look at a four door white dolomite sprint one of the few cars in history to have those two trim lines, and a Vw Scirroco which has that feature, and a two door VW Passat I think you may have been similarly affected with the stumpy Polski Fiat!mickthemaverick wrote: ↑30 May 2020, 19:44I can't believe someone gave £19250 for a Nissan Patrol and presumably someone else £40k for an XJS V12, that'll please Zel!!NewcastleFalcon wrote: ↑30 May 2020, 19:25 Interesting enough at the start of the sales results here from Silverstone Auctions
