Citroen c4 2009 heater actutor problems
Hi I have a 2009 C4 Grand Picasso and have had trouble with the heating differing on each side of vehicle. Since reading some of the posts I’ve found that the arm that attaches to the heater actuator on the passenger side was broken, I’ve replaced the arm but then noticed that the heater actuator was not working correctly, it was just turning in one direction constantly and I think this is what caused the problem with the arm breaking. I’ve now replaced this actuator but when I operate the heat control, I’ve discovered that it moves the arm in both directions as it should but not in sync with the drivers side, therefore creating different temps on each side. Is there anything also I can do/check to get both sides working in sync? Many thanks

Are you sure this is an issue? Depending on system fitted, you may have automatic dual zone climate control that is designed to allow different temperatures for the passenger and driver by design.
If you put your VIN up I can advise as to the system you have fitted to avoid any confusion.

Did you see my vin number. I do have a control on the passenger side, basically a dial to go from cold to hot and a on/off switch in the middle. I’ve even tried disconnecting this but still seems to move passenger side arm In wrong direction, causing the opposite temp on drivers side?? Thanks

Hi Brian - yes I can see your VIN (masked from public view as a security measure, but I can read it fine). Leave it with me for a second - just been answering a stack of other posts.

Re: Citroen c4 2009 heater actutor problems
Ok, so you do only have the 'Single Air Conditioning' system.
There are 3 systems on this model - the single A/C system that you have, then a Dual Zone system and finally a 4 zone system.
So you should have the main controls on the driver's side and the single dial on the passenger side that you press to take over the control of the temperature only - with the two temperature + and - buttons to adjust the temperature.
So the temperature and air distribution are set for all zones based on what the driver sets it to.
These should be the mixing micromotor on the left:

Re: Citroen c4 2009 heater actutor problems
Ok thanks mine looks slightly different to the diagram, I have the actuator on the passenger side but it moves an arm (white plastic)on the side of the main heater box. There are also arms on driver side. Problem is when the actuators move, the arms on each side move in different direction. Say I turn the dial to cold the drivers side will move up and the passenger side moves down(causing different temps on each side of the car), If I take off the actuator and move the passenger side arm up manually all temp Match throughout the car. ?? Just can’t seem to get actuator to move in sync???

Are these actuators controlled by something that could by reset by plugging the car in at a garage??? Thanks

Not really - they generally initialise themselves on climate systems from time to time.

Managed to sort problem. Found a Picasso for breaking and stripped all 3 actuator motors from heater. Either the first replacement I got was faulty or there are a left and right side cos one of the actuators from the 3,turned the wrong way as well? Really appreciate your help.

Re: Citroen c4 2009 heater actutor problems
Well, I am new on this group and I need some help. mine is a LHD grand picasso 2009 with digital heating system dual zone, but i cant have hot air on the rear vents (T pillar), only a small amount of cold air if i select in the display front face wind. Im not sure where is the problem but it seems to me that maybe the flaps for dual zone are blocked or broken. I tried to check the flaps from the passenger side (right side) and even i cant remove the lower glove box (im afraid im going to break something there) I was able to identify 2 motors, one is for temperature and the other im not sure but i guess its for face/floor/window. On the left however, i did not even tried to start this quest because i couldnt find any guide, any info step-by-step and after some extended research i found myself here reading this thread. is there any one who can drop a line or two here to point the right direction? TIA
