Well here's what I got 12/30 messed up with the Virginian.... jumped in with the High Chapparal too quick, and I knew F-troop but didn't recognise it until the answer was simultaneously on the screen.

Cheers

Yes there were tigers in your tank, and I've got a tiger in my tank stickers, but what about groundhog stickers from the local tyre place...back in as I remember it the 70's.

I owned a Matchless 500cc Twin with sidecar in 1970 and painted the whole thing except the rims, bright orange. We then plastered the sidecar and mudguards with Groundhog stickers and got much attention riding through Watford. I don't have a photo of it unfortunately, but here's an artist's impression with the sidecar off the bike so you can see the bike properly: (I didn't say what sort of artist! :-D )

Nice work Mick! Pleased you remembered the grooundhog stickers. Wonder if Gibbo has tales to tell of being pestered to give away some stickers to schoolkids from his garage days!

Looking back now would you have liked to have kept the Matchless and still have it in your storage shed/garage today!

Wouldn't I just!! Together with umpteen other "classics to be" at the time! Oddly I have owned and sold many less common vehicles nearly all of which have gone on to become desirable classics worth fortunes but sadly I seemed to have the knack of liking them when they were current and selling them before they began their value gaining times. The biggest "miss out" I had was my Messerschmitt KR200 which I bought as a non runner for £15, spent about £40 on repairing and fitting a new hood and then sold for £60 about a year later after many hilarious incidents some of which beggar belief, even by me and I was there!! :-D The last time I looked at auction prices for them they were topping £50k #-o #-o #-o :-D

Methinks that should have been £30k but they do fluctuate, however just had a look to see if any are about and found this one

It is exactly the same colour and model, with the canvas top rather than the glass bubble, that I had! You wouldn't think that likely given my current bike as in my signature would you? :-D I think you'll need to be a touch on the looney side to risk driving that, although without the original Sachs 200cc engine it will not have reverse (or suicide mode as we used to call it) so may not be quite so dangerous!! :-D

Glenmarch has a decent car search facility so this shows all the messerchmitts of various specs sold at auction on their records. Some like you say have sold for huge anounts of money.....

..and this is a fascinating canter through the early days of colour TV on ATV. What was the first colour TV Programme on 15th November 1969 on ATV, and what was the first colour advert?

One of the little Gems from the "Roving Eye" article was that Weetabix Packets, miles ahead of the game of creating a dual purpose for their packaging, has a series of models you could make with the packet, including the BBC Outside Broadcast Mobile Camera "Roving Eye " Vehicle.

..and what a delight to discover that there is a site "Cerealoffers.com" which catalogue and provide images of such cereal packet send away promotions, free gifts and cut out packet backs.

This is their Weetabix..selection covering the 1930's onwards.
