If you haven't popped over to the VE Day thread to contribute a post or two please do.

New York New York so good they named it twice, its going on both Picture of the Day and the VE Day thread.

This from our own personal younger generation is just superb in my eyes!

I am fortunate enough to have survived my first year on the FCF without a red card!! So I thought a celebratory imaginative, wishful blaze of colour was called for, and maybe the place for us to listen to our DID choices (click on the image for the best effect) :-D :

Answering all the quiz questions and the celebration of VE Day have rushed me through to my 2000th post in no time, and even nicer to do it on my forum birthday :-D !! So a celebratory picture is called for. I have owned a fair number of 2000cc cars over the years but one of them I owned for 19 years so it has to be the one! As its a definite milestone I think a full set of pictures is warranted, if you don't agree please indulge me, i loved this car:

It is indeed a Toyota Celica GTi Convertible. The wheels came with the car when I bought it in 1994 and they had Toyota badged centre caps but that is all I can say, other than I like 3 spokes and they were one of my favourite things about the car =P~ . It was lowered by 40mm and stuck to the road better than any other road car I have ever owned, including my two Elans and CRX :!: . Yet with the top down and the sun out it was a true 4 seat pleasure cruiser. I spent a fortune on it over the years and kept it in tip top mechanical condition. :) I dealt with the peripheral rot on the wheel arches and along the bottom of the doors but I decided it had gone too far when the A pillars began to disintegrate so I actually swapped it for a Mazda Xedos 2.3 Miller :( , which also ended up costing me a lot of money but thats another story!! :-D

Always fancied a Xedos, very pretty car but hopelessly expensive.

The Xedos was a beautiful car, almost as good as my current C5 but after spending 1100 on a top end rebuild I ran it for a few months as my daily driver but it just drank too much so it had to go. I was getting around 23mpg, enjoying it but working less and I just couldn't justify keeping it when I was offered a cracking 323F and £600 for it. The 323 only had 71000 miles, 1 owner and fsh so it was a no brainer. :-D
