I wanted to start a thread where we, as a forum, can record our celebration of the tremendous day in 1945 when freedom returned to our shores. It is an unfortunate irony that we find ourselves in our current lockdown conditions, which have prevented so many celebratory activities up and down the country. However that is not a reason for us to subdue our celebrations entirely so I think it would be appropriate for us to show what we can do to bring some relief from the lockdown. The idea is for us to prove that we can achieve an apparently outrageous target simply by determination and willpower. The Desert Island Disc thread which Neil started last night at 19.12 had clocked up 52 posts by 19.12 today without any direct target or intention to do so and that gives me the belief that we can do it and thereby demonstrate our collective determination to win. In order to make it a genuine celebration I would ask that all posts are connected to "75" in whatever way you choose, preferably pictorial, and thus we can produce an interesting document for people to read as a reminder of the FCF. (Fantastic Celebratory Forum

.)
I, having had prior knowledge of this thread

, have sorted out a dozen or so potential posts to keep things moving and I will endeavour to find more during the day. So what better way to get it going than a tribute from the man himself:

- BFTW
So I can now declare the thread open for business and ask for everybody's help in reaching the target of 75 posts by midnight tomorrow!!
