just as a slight update in case it helps anyone in the future

I bought 3l from a seller on ebay

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-Citr ... SwBBVecU4o

and for anyone else, the SnapOn diagnostic kit looks like it will reset the counter, as we read the fault code a couple of days ago and it gave instructions on what to do when the tank was filled. Obviously haven't actually done it yet, but can't see it not working :)

I did :)
He seems to sporadically get them, if you look at his feedback he sells the odd one every now and then, and other original parts

Hi all, great info as I also have the same message etc..

My question is, did your diagnostic system actually reset the message in the end?
Thanks

The diagnostic tool is used for resetting the Additive counter within the engine ECU. When the additive tank has been refilled with the correct additive fluid for your vehicle, the ECU needs to be told it has been refilled otherwise the warning will continue as the tank is not physically measured.

Thanks for reply, I get that.
My question was whether the SnapOn diagnostic kit was actually capable to reset the message.
I'm happy to refill the tank, but need to obtain a diag system that will actually succeed in resetting counter and need to know the most budget friendly way of doing just that.. .
Thanks again
