Citroen synergie sump plug washer

Hi Forum,

does anyone know the correct sump washer size for my citroen synergie 2.0 hdi 2002

i see there various sizes and im a bit confused as to which one i need.

I have only come across two basic sizes for PSA engines but may be more, I keep a stock of both. If you want to do an oil change the chances are that it won't leak with the original and you can check it for next time. What usually makes them leak is excessive tightening, if it comes undone fairly easily it should go again.

Alternatively if you loosen it two or three threads you might be able to get calipers on the bolt or the outside of the washer, if you can get either of those measurements I can probably tell you the size.

Washer (probably copper) is either
14 i.d. × 21 o.d. × 2mm thick
or
10 × 21 × 1.5mm
it says on a bit of paper I have here.

Don't buy them from the dealers, you can get a packet of them on ebay for what they will charge you for one.

I am using them as the place I buy my junk from had none of the usual type. Last ages.

If you have the solid copper type and can't get hold of a replacement. You can anneal (soften) the old one and re use it.
Heat it to red hot on a gas torch, or cooker and drop into cold water.
