C5 (X7) 1.6 THP 16v sedan 2011 few problems

Post by Shaib7 »

So first of all hello to everyone im new here ,
And just recently bought my citroen c5
think its one if the most comfortable car that money can achieve
So for back to our subject
From time to time
When starting the car shows service light says i have 2 problems -
1. electronic parking brake fault - still works if using the switch but automatically functions doesn't work
2. Anti rolllback system fault
What can cause those errors?
And i don't know if it has a connection between but most of the times after im checking my tyres pressure and refiling them then when turning the car back on those errors disappeared liked they never existed
From a quick vin check my car didnt came with tyre pressure sensors

Another thing/ problem, for some reason the headunit screen not showing the ac climate parameters , saw a few other cars like mine that shows it
What can it be ?

And one last question , iv seen many videos and topics all over the internet and for some reason it looks like i have a limit access for the car computer setting ,only can change the units(kml) and lightning parameters is there any explanation?

Thanks again and sorry for the long and confusing writing of me
Appreciate

The parking brake can be affected if you have an Anti Lock Braking System (ABS) or Electronic Stability System (ESP) fault and the EXP computer controls the parking brake. While you have this fault, cruise control, hill start assist and anti-roll back won't work. You really need to get a vehicle diagnostic done and provide us with the fault codes.

So are you getting any ESP warnings?
Have you had any work done on it lately like the disc pads at the rear?

We need to know the exact options fitted, so post your VIN up here.

Where are the climate settings not being displayed? - they should be displayed on the climate control panel.

What settings are you wanting to adjust? You can only change parameters or settings for equipment / options you have on the vehicle and these can be done form the menu accessed from the steering wheel controls. You will need to be specific about what settings you are trying to change.

My vin is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
A month ago i were at known citroen garage here
And they said the car is like brand new (80k odo)
And went out without any service light ,
The only thing they had doubts about was the battery they said its a bit old , and told me that as long as there's no ignition problem i can keep with it for now, and also i got another brand new one waiting for right time

Scanned with obd scanner and the results pic is attached , so i guess its my battery that should have been replaced?

By climate parameters i meant like in the photo i add
Saw in a few videos and photos that this data i shown on the screen

And actually i dont know, just saw in some topics photos and videos about other settings else than the headlamp, the langauge , and unit

Thanks mate really appreciate sorry for all the confusion

I would seriously consider replacing the battery. The C series Citroens have a lot of electronics, and are very sensitive electrically. A weak battery can throw up all sorts of faults, and they don't have to be related. Recently another forum member had issues with their Citroen, and when they replaced the battery all of the issues went away (including the one causing the EML to come on).

P0562 means that various ECUs are underpowered. This can affect many ECUs and means it's probably time for a new battery.

Make sure you follow the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure when you change the battery.

As for the display in your picture, there are different versions that are fitted to a lot of Peugeot / Citroen vehicles and they will display information differently depending on the model they are fitted to. The Head Unit (RD4) in your case is used to change the units of the system (KMH / MPH or temperature to Centigrade or Fahrenheit) and the date and time info as well as the radio settings for example. But your climate control panel indicates the temperature settings for front passengers on its dedicated display.

Thank you both guys ill replace the battery with the new one i got and thanks for the battery change explanation thread

GiveMeABreak - if im getting you right , the climate can be shown only on the climate unit itself?
So theres no way to show it on a screen ? Maybe upgrade my radio to a citroen multimedia /android ?
