Does the level (or light) not display when you turn the ignition on?

I think you will need to get the car onto a Diagbox so that any error codes and, especially, live data can be read.

The car display when starting the service km so i think there is a way to force the car to display the oil level message may be a combination of keys or something like that as we do to reset the service alarm
Thanks

Not all versions of the DS7 are fitted with an electronic oil level indicator - but if you DO have this fitted, the oil level info is displayed after the service information and after the ignition is turned on.

The level will only read correctly (if it is displayed) when the car is on level ground and the engine has been off for 30 minutes.

If you do have this system fitted, then you will get a low oil warning message popping up with the service light audible warning - but must be confirmed using the manual checking of the dipstick. If the system is fitted and is faulty, then you will get the 'Oil level Measurement Invalid' message on the instrument panel.

So the first question is did you ever have the oil measurement system working before you had the sensor changed and if so, was the correct sensor fitted?

Hi
First my car is C4 Grand Picasso 2015 new shape
Second the problem from beginning was an error message saying oil level measurement is invalid and after 3 to 4 times visits to service center they told me the sensor is recalibrated and they do reset to factory default and told me everything is working fine but from that time till now there is no message related to oil appeared whether invalid or valid or correct or any thing.
Third i checked the dipstick all of the time and the level is correct
So my idea was how to force the car to check oil level by pressing a key or combination of keys
And by the way when i press the service key it only gives service will be after x km and gives me no fault
Thanks

Hi Hesham - ok, so I was using the DS7 in your profile on the left, it might be a good idea to change it or add the C4 GP to the list - or be a little more specific in your question to avoid confusion. Incidentally, Your C4 GP was built on the 3rd September 2014 just for information - so is a 2014 model.

There is no combination of buttons to display the oil level. The level is still checked after ignition start up after the service info as I stated. All the other information is the same as what I've mentioned before.
Oil A.PNG
Oil B.PNG
Oil C.PNG
Oil Correct

This is indicated by a message in the
instrument panel.
Oil Level Incorrect

This is indicated by a message in the instrument panel.

If the low oil level is confirmed by a check using
the dipstick, the level must be topped up to avoid damage to the engine.
Oil Level Indicator Fault

This is indicated by a message in the instrument panel.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
So you need to make sure the ground is level - wait for at least 30 minutes before starting the car, then turn on the ignition only and then after the service info is displayed, it should display one of the 3 messages - the last one in the table would tell you it is not functioning. So if you are not getting any of these, then take it back to the dealer.

Hi Marc
So all of the past years i noticed that the oil level message doesn't appear every time i start the car it appears from time to time so i think it is related to specific no. Of km or let us say every 2000km for example am i right or not
Thanks

The oil counter message has nothing to do with distance travelled Hesham.

The Service messages with the spanner in the display that come on first are, as you mentioned, the distance remaining before the service is due. When it gets nearer and nearer the service interval, the spanner starts to flash or stay on depending on the miles remaining or if you have passed the service limit.

If this is the case, it may be stopping the oil level message from displaying.

I'll give you an example from my C5 X7. If one of my tyres is under inflated and I start the vehicle or put the ignition on, the tyre pressure warning takes priority and comes up on the screen on my dashboard. Because of this, I would not be able to see my oil level messages while the warning and picture is displayed on about the tyres.

So in this case, I inflate the tyre, then if I switch the car off, then switch it back on, the tyre pressure warning has gone and I can then see the oil level message as being ok, before it times out. So I'm saying if you have an extended service message - it mat be on longer than normal and that may be why you cannot see the oil level.

The only way to check that, would be to reset the service counter (make a note of the miles remaining before servicing) and then see if you start to get the oil level message after that.
