Same car as the Airbag problem. Neither the indicators or the hazards work. I've checked the fuses, both good (multimeter), checked feed to the fusebox. The hazard terminal has 12v, the indicator terminal has about 1v with the ignition on. I've read through a lot of old posts that mention the stalk being the problem, others mention the relay, and others mention the hazard warning button. I haven't got a BOLs for this car. How does the hazaed warning button come out. At least then I can check for 12v at the button and continuity through it.
Anyone with any previous on this?
Cheers

Pop up your VIN, Pete, if you'd like the circuit diagram posted.

Re: Xantia indicators and hazards
It is probably a long shot but allegedly repeatedly pressing the hazard button can get it working again.
They apparently get dirt and corrosion on the contacts through lack of use.

Thanks Chris, VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] .
So generally give it some physical abuse then Steve, ( I won't tell the missus, she may do the same to me, if I'm not working!)

Re: Xantia indicators and hazards
A known issue with the Xantia was the indicator stalk getting dust/fluff between the contacts and causing the relay to constantly click whilst not actually putting the indicators on.
It may be that the relay has burnt out, cannot remember anyone else saying that the Hazards and Indicators would not work .
A really really long shot is that one of the bulbs has blown and shorted out so confusing the feed to the relay ?

Re: Xantia indicators and hazards
Thanks, happened by the owner today at the shops. He told me 'he's' changed the stalk twice with no change but if you push a couple of wires in the fusebox it sometimes works!!!! Don't you love it when you're not given the whole story...Not had chance to look at it further for the moment, and we're in another months lockdown, so he won't need the car. I will have to move it though to mow the grass.I'll remove the bulbs and check the relay next I think.
Thanks again
Thanks again

Re: Xantia indicators and hazards
Sounds like feed to the relay so maybe someone has been pulling wires about and the contact is not clean on the relay.
Just mow the grass and worry about it sometime this week lol

Re: Xantia indicators and hazards
Damn and blast forget to say do the indicators work if you lock the car with remote and or key ?
They should flash to inform of alarm set etc

Re: Xantia indicators and hazards
If it is a French-spec car, it probably does not have an alarm nor deadlocking, so that test is probably not applicable.
Also the indicators and hazards are fed by different fuses, and note that The indicator switch cannot stop the hazard lights from working, as it is bypassed by the hazards switch.

Re: Xantia indicators and hazards
Just looked, no alarm. Yep different fuses, both got power, going to play with the hazards first. Cheers, this isn't a rush job here.
