Citroen C4 VTS 180 - Wiring question

Post by lancia58 »

Hi

I have a LHD Citroen C4 VTS 180 make year 2006. I removed from the car after market installation of alarm, speakers and anti theft device . I had to re-wire wires at the internal fuse box that were cut when the mentioned devices uninstalled.
I left with one wire circled int he following picture I didn't fine the other end of the wire. It is strange to me since the wire is thick and is should be easy to fine the other hand, or it was a free wire maybe with a connector on the end that someone cut it. Any body can help with this

The following connector was also free , I guess it is intended to an option that is not installed in the car. Someone knows what it was intended to ?

Thanks

If its an original wire it should have a code printed on it every couple of inches, its not usually more than 5 digits & can be a mix of numbers and letters. This code can give a clue.

That blue connector looks like one for an optional bluetooth hands-free kit.

Yes, from about 2013, but before that there was an add-on box for the RD4.

The later RD45 has Bluetooth built in to the Head Unit - no additional kit needed apart from a compatible Multifunction screen that may be needed if not already fitted - and microphone wiring if it is not already there in the Head Unit block.

All I can find is that wire BH40 is a battery live supply. Best to make sure the end is insulated.

I insulated it. Since it is thick it makes sense that it is battery live supply - can you check if there is a connector on the end ? I'll check with a multi meter if it is power ? Maybe it was used for some after market installation and this is the reason it is cut and the reason that I can not find the other end ?

Thanks

I checked the wire and there isn't a 12V regardless if the ignition switch is on/off.

There are some items that are only active when the engine is actually running - to safeguard the battery from being depleted. Fans being just one example.

On Citroen C4 UK I have been told that it is a 12v cable that goes to the boot. It's not live. It's intended to be used when connecting a trailer relay or an audio system in the boot.
