This is part pic of the day / part whatsthisthen. I took this on Sunday on a local bike ride:
pipes.jpg
It's reasonably close to where I live, and there is some info at the bottom about it which makes for interesting reading - it has a 'first' claim to fame! Anyone work out where / what it is, and its claim to fame?

I rode my bike down the bank on the left of the pipes, which was, er, interesting, as it's rather steep, and covered in beech nut shells, which makes it verrrry slippy

To be fair Richard since your location is shown as United Kingdom, "close to where I live" is not much of a clue :-D Perhaps you could narrow that down a bit? :)

Part of the old distribution network from Glenmavis LNG storage centre? :)
Or maybe part of the newer branch to the ethylene pipeline distribution owned by Shell which supplements the original one I worked on in the 1980'sjointly owned by BP and ICI?
