You can see with the fan removed from the housing the plug /socket which is the one i was trying to refer to earlier as the motor plugs into this

That's because the Xantia wasn't multiplexed & could have up to 3 coolant temp sensors for different functions. One of the reasons for multiplexing is to reduce the amount of unnecessary sensors & wiring.
