Another of my "ones that got away"! I bought a 2300SE in 1986, blew up the engine in the fast lane on the M1 between J23 and J22 heading home for my daughter's birthday party. Had to be relayed home, missed the party amd then spent £600 having a 2600 lump installed. It was well worth it as the 2300 was underpowered, lovely car in every other way though! Burgundy with beige interior, the only car in which, with the back seats folded down my children could sleep away our overnight drives to Ilfracombe where my sister owned a caravan!! :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

I think its a bit of a mongrel Chris, a 2300, was originally cream, and has had a V8 fitted
ESTIMATE £3500 - £4500
Chassis number 270877 - this example has been fitted with a 3500 V8 engine at some point and has also been the subject of a colour change from Cream to Opaline Green during 1989. The car is presented with an MOT test until May 2020
Another on the list of passing interest is a Lunar Grey 3500.....its got an LPG Conversion. The pictures are pretty awful.......clean it up a bit give it a decent polish park it in front of a stately home on a sunny day on a gravel drive with well manicured lawns in the background and it would look so much better.

judge for yourself

I sold one of those to an old customer, an immaculate 2600, he only kept it a few weeks because every time they went out in it his wife was awfully travel sick, I took it back and they had a Renault Trafic camper van conversion instead which they kept and used for over ten years.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

You're right, Neil, the photos of that P6 are just awful.
Shows as at least three different greys in different photos!
My '72 2000TC had the same bronze leather interior, but a Cameron Green (not far off BRG) body.
The LPG conversion doesn't leave a lot of boot space - already at a premium.
The air cleaners are just awful....and would be noisy, too.

Anyone want to join the XJS club :?: It will be an interesting watch if nothing else. Barn find, and at least a declared £8,000 restoration including a bare metal respray, and anticipating bids of £4,000 to £5,000.

Anyone fancy a bus, "On the button and ready for pure fun, this modestly proportioned bus can be driven on a regular car licence (provided you passed your test before 1997) with up to eight of your nearest and dearest onboard - it doesn’t even require tax or an MOT. It is around 7.5m long, 3m high and 2.75m wide, so big - but not huge."

That might do for my next car - loads of room for son's mountain bike and he could live in it while he is in Scotland chucking himself down mountains.
Not sure the neighbours would be all that pleased.
