A lot of councillor waffle about the subject but not much fact.

They do note that the vehicle is unsuitable because they can't fit the dog warden's cages in it.

They're also having a survey as to installing a charging point in the staff car park.
From the councils website

Nissan have the e-nv200 van which really should be selling hand over fist to eager councils. Should really be made in Sunderland but is made in Spain.

The hybrid they tested was a Toyota Corolla Hybrid T/S Icon Tech Estate was trialled by the team.

That Toyota is one of those self-charging hybrids.....

Don’t think the Forest of Dean council could have chosen a much worse hybrid to trial, as well as it being too small for the dog cage :)

Don’t let them waste your Council Tax Gibbo :)

The weird thing is that we have a very long established and community spirited Nissan dealer on the outskirts of Coleford so I can't understand the Toyota move.

Did a bit of assisting the MG Driver, using all of my two months experience in charging points :-D . The MG driver had tried three other charging points without success. That particular one did accept payment with a bank card if you weren't in the chargeplace Scotland club. One of the points Robert Llewellyn made on his fully charged review of the MG-EV was the awkwardness of using the charging point on the car.

As far as spots today go.....in an entire retail park car park, only two electric cars.....my nice little deep red leaf, and co-incidentally parked right next to me a dirty looking black TESLA model 3. No doubt in my mind which looked best :-D

..and on the charging rank, a "Jade Frost" New Nissan Leaf

Ok Number 1 today unfortunately scoring negative points. Its a plug in hybrid with a tiny battery and tiny range.
https://www.motor1.com/reviews/346793/2 ... pros-cons/

"At first, Mini rated the Countryman’s range at 24 miles from its fully charged 7.6-kWh battery – that figure is still on the company’s media website with an asterisk next to it. But the real figure for production models is just 12 miles. "
Its got a right mouthful of a name....Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4

Too many EV's seen lately to be worth posting individually. Lots of Tesla Model 3's ! In fact I passed one on the way home on the motorway tonight, usually I'm the one getting passed... I would say I've had Model 3 sightings about 5 times this week, (and not just the same white one) two Model X and two Model S.

Model 3's are definitely starting to become a more common sight now and I'm seeing them as often if not more often than Leaf's, which is something considering that previously the Leaf was the single most common EV on UK roads by number.

Also saw a couple of (facelift) Leaf 40's today. Haven't seen any of the older frog style Leaf's recently which is odd. Also haven't seen any Zoe's, which is strange because they are also quite popular on UK roads by number.

Another year from now I think the Tesla Model 3 will definitely be the most common EV on our roads...they're selling as many RHD ones as they can make here and are outselling other brand EV's by about 10x, although some of that is no doubt pent up demand and may not represent long term demand especially when other brands are so supply constrained at the moment.

None of my sightings are at charging points by the way, all are on the road.

The hybrid Mini presumably sneaks its way into city ULEZones without penalty, which is surely why it was created. Fortunately, there are signs that city authorities are waking up to this, by disqualifying hybrids with less than x miles battery-only range. The last one I read about was setting x at 70.

Still no answers on what percentage of Toyota hybrid miles are actually done on battery. Likely we will never know this presumably 'commercially sensitive' figure...

I had a brand new Prius T-Spirit as a company lease from 2007 to 2010 and I can confirm that running battery alone would give me 8 miles downhill with a following wind. More like 4-5 miles in reality. Overall mpg was only 49 over the 36000 miles lease. And I always drive with as light a right foot as possible. I would probably have got 53-55 out of it with just the 1.5 petrol and none of the battery and motor weight!! :) But I did save a fortune driving in and out of London's congestion zone!! :-D

" Toyota hybrid advertisement banned in Norway "

I see that a very similar ad is now screening on UK tv. The commentary has been carefully crafted to imply . . . you work it out . . .

Simon did a nice little piece on the Citigo on the Electric Cars-Whats Available thread here. We have not had the "Fully charged" analysis yet which is usually spot-on.
