A Leaf :(
Took my daughter's car to Seaton Delaval yesterday, saw no electrics.
Was a passenger home so plenty of opportunity for spotting - the Leaf.
Then forgot to look :(

Todays Charging Companion, another with an exhaust pipe and an electric motor.

Its a Mini, but four doors, and a hatch back to boot, and going by the name of Countryman.

New Leaf and if it counts a dreadfully slow Prius taxi - 30mph on a 70 limit dual carriageway, holding everyone up.

Been there done that many times, often on the way back from an auction when the purchase turned out to be a dog, also with my recovery truck with one on the back and another on the tow dolly. :-D

Another Leaf - without leaving the house this time - parked outside to deliver food to a neighbour.

Yes the green numberplates may make Electric Vehicles more noticable, but as you survey the roads, the car parks, your own town or village in January 2020, the continuing domination of the mix by ICE cars is enormous. Reminds me of this well observed quote...
"Our true competition is not the small trickle of non-Tesla electric cars being produced, but rather the enormous flood of gasoline cars pouring out of the world’s factories every day"
@elonmusk 31st January 2019
You are left currently with a second hand choice of Leaf or a Zoe unless you are particularly well heeled, by 2025 some of the current slightly better variety of models, may come into consideration second hand, and by 2025 hopefully the new car mix will be dominated by electric models...but...

...are the "legacy" automakers 100% on board, not likely still planning to maintain a reasonably sized flood of gasoline cars pouring out of their factories. The Peugeot new advert features children speculating on the car of the future....the leading question in it will it run on petrol......the answer "Yes, but it also will be electric".

The legacy automakers want to build hybrids, and it appears all automakers want to build expensive cars. For electric mobility to reach the masses, high volume low price vehicles need developing, exactly the opposite of of what legacy automakers want to make.

So for the time being the spotting of an electric car will remain a bit of a novelty, although the variety is set to increase this year,

Our local free paper reports today that the council (Forest of Dean) has 'Put a hybrid through its paces with the street warden team.'

A lot of councillor waffle about the subject but not much fact.

They do note that the vehicle is unsuitable because they can't fit the dog warden's cages in it.

They're also having a survey as to installing a charging point in the staff car park.
