Have those Lidls' jacks really gone up to £25? Then you can probably do better for the money but, Chinese or not, if they're good enough for TUV, that'll do me.

My Lidls' electric tyre pump (the silly one that looks like a toy compressor) which so impressed originally was waiting for a replacement switch (temporarily bypassed) salvaged from a dead coffee machine, when I find it, when the gauge stuck at 40psi - can they be unstuck? Any ideas?

As for Toolstation, after my (1st) experience over the last couple of weekends both on line & with 3 stores - never again! (although the lady who finally served me - in Newton Abbot - was wonderful).

There's some motor stuff in Tesco's special offers at the moment, Redex additives and a couple of dash camera amongst others.

Not sure if this link will take you there.

The motorcycle lube and chain cleaner has gone up! It was £2.99 per can last time they did it.

Chain cleaner is pointless anyway. Chain manufacturers recommend parrafin, I just wish I could find somewhere to buy it! I don't want a gallon of it like B&Q sell.

Use turps substitute/white spirit you can buy it in half litres in most diy shops.

You can buy deodorised paraffin in hardware shops as lamp oil €2.50 a litre here so not cheap

i've been told that turps or white spirit will damage the rubber O-rings in the chain, which seal the lubrication inside the links..

I can't see any available in small quantities but Homebase has it for £10/10L, half the B&Q price.

Amazon have 11L bottles for £4. Seems excessive.

I can't see how paraffin would be less damaging Mike.
