Citroen Zx 2.0 16v Gearbox Ratoi

Dear Members,

My Gearbox is fault.... I am planning to replace the GB.

Need some advice on 16V GB

On my Zx 16v GB number
BE3 5FG

I will replaced with this
GB BE3 6FG.

Will there any different in gear ratoi

There is very little info I have on this given that it's 25 years old now - but I know that there was a change during your build date for the 2nd gear ratio on the BE3 box for the XU10J4 engine. The gearbox reference for the 2lt engine I think changed from 20 CL 46 (20/37) to 20 CL 80 (23/43).

As for the the 5 and 6FG - I think these relate to the final gear and I can't find any references to those - but on the BE3 they have a push rod instead of cable operated - so I would doubt the other one would fit.

Just to share information on the Gearbox.

Have replaced the GB with BE3 6FG.
It's work but the gear Ratio is slower
The respond is a bit slower then
The other Gearbox BE3 5FG
