Peugeot 407 V6 Smells of Petrol

Post by Franchute13 »

Hi.

I have a strong smell of gasoline in the engine area.
I see that the fuel lines are divided into 2, one for each injectors ramp. I can't see if the injectors lose.
In the pipes I don't see a leak.

What steps do you recommend to follow to find the leak?

Thank you!

Hello!
I found the problem.
Injector # 2 loses fuel by oring with the ramp!
Regards.

Thanks Hell Razor5543!

I took some pictures but the leak is not noticeable!
Comment that when the car comes into contact (before ignition) the engine area is full of smell.

I was watching videos of how to change the orings to the injector.
I understand that:

Pressure must be drawn from the circuit, to do this:
1) Remove the fuse to the gasoline pump.
2) Start the engine until it turns off. Retry to burn.
3) Open the fuel cap.

Then, disconnect the battery.
Disconnect the fuel inlet to the ramp.
Disconnect the injectors.
Remove the screws from the ramp.
Carefully remove the ramp.
Carefully remove the injector, grasping it completely with your hand and making movements.

To change the orings, be careful not to hurt the injector head.

Does this procedure seem correct? Any suggestions?

Cheers

Hi.
Well, the problem is not the orings, it is the fuel rail. It has a micro crack, at first glance it is not visible but when there is pressure it loses fuel.
