..I have to add this little link re the above. Those are what is known as Kiddicraft Minatures, produced in perfect detail as childrens toys.
Cigarettes and legos?

"And the metallic sheen of the Player’s Bachelor Tipped box highlights two detailed cameos alongside a script logo. Inside each little box are 20 neatly-packed cigarettes that are a little over one-inch long each."

Gallagher made Greens and Blues unfiltered cigarettes similar to Navy Cut and Senior Service cigarettes. They were very strong especially the Greens. Obviously I only ever read about these cigarettes never actually used them.

My aunt used to recite a poem about cigarettes that was around during WW2 sadly I was too stupid to learn it apart from this. Wee Willie Woodbine took Miss Gallaher up Park Drive.
Does anyone know it or even parts of it? She told me about Pasha cigarettes in Manchester during the war said the were awful.

Now I'm confused, I thought the tobacco company had no "G" in the name ie. Gallaher? Also amazing we used to make toy cigarette packets to resemble the real thing as opposed to the toy cigs for playing "make believe" games!!

I only remember Pasha as the turkish delight factory in Watford which became Yeatman's and then Mothercare and is now a housing estate I believe!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

The kiddicraft catalogue of products is fascinating. They did a decent line in beer and spirits too in highly detailed, manufacturer approved, minatures.

Heres the spirits!

mickthemaverick wrote: 02 Nov 2019, 16:11 As far as I can remember Steve, Bachelors were always in the grey/blue and white packets. My mum used to buy 10 every couple of weeks so the packet was always on the sideboard. Lambert & Butler are the only brand I can think of in Silver packets, although they did have a black band round them with the name printed on! :)
Wouldn't argue with that, it was a long time back.
Never heard of Sterlings.

I think that for the benefit of any roaming PC police we should point out that Smoking can Kill and the opinions expressed here are those of the contributers and not of the French Car Forum!! :)

Some fascinating items in the kiddicraft minatures.....

There was even a Martins Bank Cheque book for paying bills, and a Martins bank paying in book for savings!

Big Tobacco is still in the business of grabbing the kids - fruit-flavoured vaping products are now part of their assortment. Don't expect any rapid change there: see Wikipedia on Priti Patel.

Yet another blast from the past. I dont think I have had the need for this product since I gave up on my Platignum fountain pen in 1971 :-D and replaced it with a ballpoint pen....lets call it a biro even though it wasn't!

Excellent detail on the kiddicraft toy though

The 'Father of the house' Ken Clarke MP who is retiring now was a lobbyist for the tobacco industry, defending them always against the anti smoking regulations.

I think the lobbyists for the legalisation of cannabis are led by the tobacco industry who have the infrastructure in place ready to take advantage should that happen, they've happily killed off their customers for a hundred and fifty years so have no qualms about continuing to do so.

I get the feeling also that behind the scenes they are colluding with the tv companies to get around the tv advertising ban by having smoking scenes written into plays, see how many detectives, male and female smoke their way through the episodes.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.
