If that CX is a prestige, and it looks like it, then I'd have that every time, but ideally at the XM's price!! :-D

Two Classic Car sales I follow going on tomorrow

Mathewsons at Thornton-le-Dale North Yorks
https://mathewsons.co.uk/auctions/9494- ... d-november
and
Anglia Car Auctions at Kings Lynn. Free hot drinks for Rugby fans before the Sale Starts, and half time bacon sandwiches!
https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic ... mber-2019/

One from each just to keep it visual.
From Mathewsons...Now your average old mini is selling well over what I consider to be value for money, but what about this a one owner 1963 Wolseley Hornet. I can't get over the vision of one of my dad's more elderly friends, and his wife who used to pootle about in one. No its a bridge too far for me but nice condition..

and ACA...something yellow and Italian but no room for a Labrador!

1987 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth 7,349 miles from new

So How much did that one fetch? (give yourself 10 points for 5000 either way)
Spoiler: show
https://angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic ... -cosworth/
and no-one wanted this at a £3000-£4000 estimate. It ticks the odd and quirky box for me, bonkers looking rear side windows, and the double aerofoil/spoiler.

Don't think I can claim any points there!! I was 30k out, too many people have too much money these days it would seem. That is one hell of an inheritance out of the blue!! :)

There are also a lot of cars on the sold list like the some of BMW's, Jaguars, which would have cost a fortune new, depreciated like a brick to the no-one wants one stage, or the no one is prepared to pay much for one stage.
Sold for £1820
Image
Sold for £870
Image
The XJS is still unloved £2756

PLenty other examples on the sales results.

Still hanker after an XJ300/308, but wouldn't risk buying one that cheap at an auction (says he who's bought 2 Cadillacs on eBay) - actually the money would be better spent repairing/restoring the XJR.

others:-
Jeep XJ Cherokees x 3 :?
