My New Lexia Install.... Not Going Well

It works well, if seriously slowly (compared to my Mac).

All I need to do is figure out how to delete stored codes and see what re-appears

You can only delete the fault codes once you have 'read' them.

Select each code and confirm, then you can delete it under fault erasing.

As for speed - make sure Windows update is disabled and the service stopped - once you have updated the laptop you really shouldn't need to keep updating it if using solely for diagnostics - that will speed it up no end.

I was being amusing regarding speed... I've got used to a quick reaction time, but going back to 32 bit is interesting.

1st thing we did was kill updates, but I also need to slap the Windows Defender because it wanted to clear every aspect of the diagnosis process... That and AVG, but I think the process is fine now.

I'll go back out tomorrow and see what faults I can delete. Although, no faults appear until the engine is started and to do that I have to press the brake. I did wonder initially if it was a voltage issue... But that doesn't appear to be the case.

How much memory does the DiagBox laptop have? The more you can fit the better, as DiagBox is somewhat memory hungry!

I fitted new RAM back around 2010 or 2011 as I was using it as a disco and karaoke laptop. Then I got an Acer which totally Donald'd the Toshies. (Trumped ) so they were put in the cupboard and stayed unloved all this time.

We also have a small Acer that wife got for our son to use, but she put on all manner of safety and anti everything which made it practically useless, so it too sat around doing naff all

I've asked my computer guy to format it and bung on both DVD's to give it the Lexia treatment. The plan is to use it for up to date stuff and the Toshiba for the older stuff. Does that sound feasible?

Reason being, the little red Acer could never be mistaken for it's grandad so there could never be an issue when it comes to more modern cars

I have a Toshiba NB250 netbook running Windows 7 and 2GB RAM (it cannot support any more than that). While it may be slow it does the job. The reason I asked is because I have heard of people trying to run DiagBox with 1GB RAM and (while it does work) it has a large set of brakes attached to the performance!
