Citroen C5 I - Xenon Headlight Question

Hello,

I have a Citroen C5 2.0 HPi exclusive fitted with xenon and the left lamp changed the color to pink so I guess the lamp is dying.

Replacing xenon lamps is expensive, so I am thinking in change for a regular lamps.
Is that possible? Will the normal lamps fit?

No Fabio.

They must be the correct Xenon bulbs as they have a completely different fitting and electrical requirement. You should also replace these in pairs. The xenons last a lot longer than conventional bulbs, so don't be tight and get the proper ones.

Ok, so you have 2 main bulbs for the headlights - one is the Xenon (11 on the diagram) which is a D2R bulb and the other is an H1 55W bulb (number 10).

A word of caution - I strongly suggest you avoid ebay and Amazon for these D2R bulbs - as it's estimated that a very high proportion are fakes and will not be originals!

I recommend OSRAM - and get them from an approved reseller or authorised reseller to avoid Chinese copies that are not of the same quality and will not last as long.
