Teletrac Sat nav in a Dispatch van issue

Post by Mrkdavis21 »

Hi,
I have purchased a 2016 Dispatch Enterprise (2015 model) the van did not come with a sat nav unit. I purchased a replacement Teletrac which works with the exception it will not work a route,
I have reset it a few times and still no joy, any ideas on how to fix this. Would at other unit work with the installed wiring.

Those systems were an integrated solution comprising of a SmartNav, stolen vehicle tracking and fleet management messaging and routing - so I doubt whether it will simply work without the rest of the integrated system being configured.

I think it would be simpler and easier to get a standalone Sat Nav system and be done with it.

If you post your VIN up I can see what kit you do have as standard and whether there is anything else needed.

Ok, so no on the USB front - as that is really designed for connecting an MP3 player to play music via the audio system, It's not designed for charging or powering equipment - you'll need to use the 12V accessories / cigarette lighter socket for powering devices.

You have the RD45 Audio system, which is already Bluetooth compatible for telephone and for Audio streaming and will play MP3 CDs, as well as MP3 files via the USB as already mentioned.

I would return the telematic unit as it won't operate properly.

So for your aftermarket sat nav, - it should come with a 12V cigar lighter adapter to power it, or you can hard wire it using a piggy back fuse which will save splicing any wires.

Thanks Marc, I was hoping to be able to use the existing cable for the now defunct Telematic unit (will return). Will buy an aftermarket sat nav. and hardwire it.

Again thanks for your help.
