Hello, and Calling CX Owners

Post by Nigel Clark »

Hi to all Francophiles,

To get straight to the point, I'm a classic car photographer and writer, and I'm hoping by joining your forum to find a Citroen CX for a forthcoming photoshoot. I hope you don't mind me coming in with such a request.

The shoot is for a major monthly classic car magazine and will probably be held in the Herts/Bucks area, as soon as possible. The car I'm looking for needs to be in smart, near original condition though it doesn't need to be a concours contender, and minor modifications like a modern stereo would be acceptable. Ideally the car would be a saloon rather than estate and any model, petrol or diesel would be acceptable.

I can promise the owner an interesting 2-3 hours at the shoot plus a set of professional quality digital images of their pride and joy. If you have a nice CX and would like to see you car featured in a magazine, please get in touch.

Thank you in advance.

Hello, and :welc: to the forum. I know of one CX that is on this Forum, but may not meet your needs. Try looking up CGAT and Project Lowrider;

Thank you, but... What can I say? Project Lowrider is not quite what the magazine's editor expects!

CX anyone?

The CX I was thinking of makes an appearance in Page 3 of the thread. It is somewhat modified (OK, a LOT modified), but a beautiful example of a CX, none the less.

Make a post in our CX forum viewforum.php?f=23 , many of our users don't monitor this forum, and some may have notifications set for new topics in the CX forum.

Will this do? CX S2 GTi Auto, built on Valentine's Day 1988. Only recently passed 80,000 miles; I'm the seventh owner.

Modifications: virtually none. I'm only just after starting to replace bulbs with LEDs. Has had one expensive gearbox rebuild, though. Definitely not concours, but not much rust thanks to its previous owner having kept it in a dry shed and maybe bringing it out three times a year.

Lives in North West London and runs every weekend to the stables at Sarratt, and occasionally turns up at shows. Herts/Bucks not a problem.

I just remembered Stickyfinger has a few Citroens of interest. It could be worth talking to him;

To save reading 150 odd pages, you could jump straight to: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=50854&start=2205#p584394 but geography might be an issue...

CX's were well represented, with two very different examples, at Festival of the Unexceptional over the weekend and possibly will be again next year, easy journey for you too. One for the Calendar perhaps.

Photoshoot has been done on quite a hot day. Grand to meet Nigel.

Maybe might see something published in the months ahead.
