Well it was shiny, and red, and did turn my head a little, so I took a picture of it.

I can't help wondering if this is a modernised version of my 25 year old Mazda:

What do you think?

Looks like "Mine" is a Toyota GT86, a 2+2 sports coupe. Wiki describes yours like this... "The Mazda MX-3 is a four-seat coupé manufactured and marketed by Mazda." Yes it has its similarities. Is your Mazda a genuine 4 seater ? :-D

Good question that, there is reasonable room in the back for smaller sized adults but getting in and out is not exactly easy. I'd say it is more like a 2+2 myself. I do think there are distinct similarities in the lines tho!! :)

Presumably this cost a lot of money. I took a picture of it for reasons of curiosity, and maybe others do regard it as being well qualified for this topic.

Its an odd colour in my eyes, and odd is often interesting. For me its more from the point of view of "if you are spending a large amount of money on a brand new Porsche would you actually select this colour?"

The model number is 718 Boxster GTS. Not much in touch with Porsche numbering but is this a bit of throwback numbering to cars that whizzed around race tracks in the 1960's.

Here it is make your own mind up, but for me well off topic!

I'd have to agree that the Porshe has no place at all in this topic :-x

Colour choice is a curious thing, e.g. I never understood who bought red Daimlers - or (the opposite extreme) beige E-types, or why?

Here's a taste of a good colour choice on, what for me is, a good looking modern car:

Any suggestions? :)

Yes that's an MX5, one of my neighbours was diagnosed with bowel cancer, had all the treatments and seems to be quite well, back at work, he said "Time to treat myself to something I've always wanted." He bought one of those in white, brand new.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Thought so (my second daughter has one but she is forty miles away) :)

She has a very bad back and struggles to find a comfortable car. She can drive that all day.
She couldn't drive their SAAB 93 although she has had one in the past, struggles with SIL's Audi A5 and tried loads of cars before she settled on that one.
She also has an ancient Escort cabriolet that she loves and has just had completely refurbished, only comes out of the garage on fine days or if she has to shift all her kids at the same time.
MX5 lives on the drive.

Sarah did try a few older ones but couldn't find a comfortable driving position in them, only the new one.
She also tried TTs, Z3s and Z4s etc and hated them all.

In all my years I've never tried a car (in fact, not sure I understand the concept). I've either decided what I wanted & gone looking for one - or bought one on a whim. Some I loved, some I liked, some were just fun, or served a purpose, a couple of errors of judgment but no real regrets.
