Coolant change C5 V6 petrol?
Heya, how do I drain all the coolant from the system on a mk1 (2005) C5 V6 petrol? removing the water pump yielded about 1/2 a bucket

Re: Coolant change C5 V6 petrol?
The procedure is identical to this one I have already posted for a C4, illustrated, so will save me retyping it up. It includes the de-gassing procedure:

CHeers boss - got out as much as possible (there is no bottom hose on the V6), so will follow the process for refill once the new pump etc is on!

I think they kept the same procedure - so in your case it would probably be the bottom 2.
Anyway, some other info on the V6 cooling system in case you need it:
(1) heater matrix.
(2) Bubble trap.
(3) thermostat.
(4) Coolant outlet housing .
(5) Coolant inlet housing.
(6) Engine cooling radiator .
(7) Header tank.
(8) bleed screw(s) .
(9) Oil / water heat exchanger (automatic gearbox).
(10) Temperature sensor .
(11) temperature switch.

Re: Coolant change C5 V6 petrol?
And....pay very careful attention to the refill procedure, there is a bleed screw on the water flow manifold (outlets on the side of the engine....8) and one leading to the heater matrix (also 8) ...this is "LIKE" a tyre valve...it is NOT the same and has a seal inside as well as being deeper. (easy to drop as well) I have replaced mine with a metal truck valve cap that is fitted with a seal.
