I wasn't claiming credit, just deflecting any blame from Gibbo.
Like I said, a distinction without difference - for all practical purposes (bit like BG and BT & their various arms/incarnations). If I have to pick something up from an office behind the PO in Eltham or adjoining the PO in Paignton that is the PO as far as I'm concerned & whether it originally came by Royal Mail or Parcelforce I wouldn't know - because I never saw the van!

Re: Ebay joker.
It’s true though the majority of the population lives/works within a few miles of their Royal Mail delivery office. The same can’t be said of the other couriers although now they are leaving parcels in local convenience stores for easier pick up.
Think about your delivery driver as well. Royal Mail pats a good wage. A lot of courier drivers are working for less than minimum wage as they only get paid per parcel delivered, that’s why a lot of them leave it in your bin. I’ve heard stories of them peeing in their van because they don’t have time to pee.

Our Post Office delivery base isn't too far away, about four miles but they close prompt at mid-day, caught me out on that when the postman left a note in my door to collect the item because it was under paid and there was a £1.50 payment due...………...then found on the second attempt that it was some unsolicited tat that was there to be collected.

Send them some unstamped Argos catalogues. That'll learn 'em!

Can you still get "those" Argos catalogues?

Re: Ebay joker.
One of my mates had a fall out with a seller and after a long struggle they sent him a Royal Mail prepaid postage label to return the faulty item, instead of the original small part he packed a commercial vehicle brake drum that weighed in at 35Kg and sent that.

Now that's a good idea. Not only does it shaft a bad seller, but keeps me in a job

Re: Ebay joker.
I sold something on Ebay with postage at £10 (it was heavy). The buyer actually stayed in a few miles away so I delivered it personally. I was on my way to work so I had my uniform on. An easy £10 and a very very happy buyer
