It is an early model Corne, build date was 18th September 2006.

I will email you the factory specs for this vehicle, but I don't have access to history or previous owners.

Hi Corne - yes according to the VIN and the parts you do have a Heads Up Display - it is recessed into the dash as shown (5) on the diagram - but will be on the right hand side of course. Citroen call this a 'Height Vision Display'. Parts for this are no longer available from Citroen.

Thanks Marc!
Thanks for sending me the build sheet. it i an early model but I like the earlier models! The rimms are a very attractive one for me. but now, as per usual I need some more help...

Before I am allowed to import a modernish C6 I need to motivate and state that it is a collectors item worldwide and as far as I am concerned this is a true collectors item. Can you guys please possibly help me to get links to sites that I can write a motivational letter with proof and reference as to why they should allow me to import a C6.

Thanks in advance
Corne

Hi Corne

The C6 is a rarity - only 23,384 units were built worldwide! Some other articles here for you to have a read through and hopefully you will be able to pick out some of the key points.

I recommend you take a look at Citroenet first though - there is a lot written about it and he also has the various brochures and details about the car.

I had a chat with the import commission here in South Africa. Chances are very slim, I need to prove that it is actually going up in value as a collectors car.
Is there someone in the UK citroen club fraternity that can help me with a letter to state its cult status and that it is deemed worthy as an appreciating in value future classic etc. I am quite desperate to get a permit. Please help.

Another interesting article about the C6 Corne: seems a lot of the UK models were exported to Australia where they have a cult following...

Maybe it would be worth contacting one of the Classic Car magazines to see if they have anything that you could use - or perhaps provide you with some other sources?

Hi Marc

Unfortunately it all cam to an abrupt end, I am not allowed to import a c6 as it is not seen as a classic at all. I am trying to see if there is any possible loopholes at all. I really do want a C6

I've just been reading the archaic import guidelines document from

https://www.gov.za/services/import/impo ... ed-vehicle

Seems that a classic car is defined as 40 years or older!

Although they seem to do this to protect SA's manufacturing industry, they seem to overlook the knock-on benefits of maintenance and supply of parts and upkeep of these vehciles that would also contribute to the economy. It all seems a little harsh to me.

Sorry to hear that - the only other way seems extreme in that you would have to have it bequeathed to you in order to get it over there!

Hi Marc

Our import rules are very outdated, the rules are in fact stupid, to think that cars built here are exported, so it is impossible to halt sales of locally produced cars and the VAT on importing a car is already so high that it makes it very expensive to import any car, new or old!

I don't know anyone in the UK who is at that age and willing to sort of bequeath a car to me :-D

I am checking other avenues, I am not yet defeated!!
