Citroen C4 Picasso coolant leak name of part
As per the title I have a coolant leak on a Citroen C4 Picasso, with a friend I have tracked the leak down to a pipe on the right hand side of the engine that comes out of the back of the water pump thats connected to the out pipe from the radiator.
I would like to know more about where the pipe goes and what its called. A diagram of where it connects to the other end, would also be good if there is one available.

Pop your VIN up so we know what variant you have - systems differ between engines and models.

From previous post VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
Here are the hoses:
This is a bit confusing as it shows 2 pipes at the LH side - but the part numbers show yours is fitted with a 2 part hose, items 3 and 4.
And the manifold on the back of the block to the water pump:
Not sure which bit you are referring to? When you say right, do you mean as you look at the engine, or as you are sitting in the car? I think you perhaps have the thermostat confused with the pump - there is no hose from the rad to the pump - both rad hoses are connected to the stat housing.

OK I have marked this image:
The leak is on that corner as the pipe goes round the back of the engine.
When I said right its when your looking head on, sorry just realised thats not conventional way round, its near side (on RHD vehicle as Im in the UK) very close to the battery and under the fuel pump.

OK... so that's item 2 on the second pic I posted. Which comes in at £110. However, I can't imagine how you would go about changing it - engine out?
There is a link on the page (the LE2015 in red) which suggests instead:
1336 X3 Propose :
- 1336 V3(1) + 1340 72(1) + 6980 44(1)
Which is a different design of manifold, and only £80.

Re: Citroen C4 Picasso coolant leak name of part
RichardW is the whole pipe actually needed though or can I just get the part that goes round that corner of the engine? Does it have a joint round the back somewhere, which would mean just getting a bit out but not the lot?

Are you sure that the leak is actually from that pipe, and not a leak from the thermostat housing that is running downhill onto the pipe that you have identified?

There is a definite split in that pipe.

Re: Citroen C4 Picasso coolant leak name of part
If you search on the part no on e-bay, there are quite a few around £40. There might be a joint in the middle looking at the pics, but given the (lack of) access I imagine it will be just as 'easy' to remove and replace the whole lot. I can't see any instructions, but it books at 6.1 hours, so it's no walk in the park! I suspect at least the OS drive shaft will need to come out, and possibly the sub frame, and quite likely the EGR valve and cooler. Good luck!!

Re: Citroen C4 Picasso coolant leak name of part
I think I have the same issue on my 2007 Peugeot 307 1.6 HDi. The air filter box has chafed a hole in the water pump to engine coolant pipe. The pipe is made of some kind of hard plastic (not rubber-like).
As it it time-consuming (and the not cheap) to change the pipe, has anyone had success with a temporary repair? I tried vulcanizing tape, but it did fix the leak.

Re: Citroen C4 Picasso coolant leak name of part
Thanks for the help of people on here with this part, I found an independent mechanic who was able to fix the part onto my car at a very reasonable price.
Re: Citroen C4 Picasso coolant leak name of part
I glued my coolant hose in situ. Still tight one month after.

Re: Citroen C4 Picasso coolant leak name of part
It looks as if I have the same problem, 2005 307 HDi 1.6. You can see the jet of coolant in the red circle in this picture. So, what do I do?
Any help would be much appreciated as it will be a couple of weeks before a garage will look at it. Name of part? Time for repair? Did the glue hold? Type of glue? ²
