Hydraurinçage overuse?

Post by pseud »

Is there a 'too long' and if so, what happens when you don't take it out in time...?

Thanks all

5,000KM, and things may well seize. LHM has (as well as acting as hydraulic fluid) lubrication properties. Hydraurincage does not have the same level of lubrication.

Recommended period of use is 1500−5000km, so if you're not massively over that limit, you'll be fine.
The main component of Hydraurincage is the same as LHM (mineral oil), plus some small quantities of cleaning solvents. It does have lubricating qualities, and will not damage the system.

When done, do a few Citrobics, then suck/syphon out the contents of the reservoir, clean or replace the two filters there, and refill with LHM, to normal level plus 1L. Then bleed the brakes, until your fresh LHM appears (it will be cleaner and greener), keeping an eye on how much you're taking out, and topping up as needed. Check the level, and job then done.

1 × 5L of LHM is usually enough for the switch back, but a couple of extra litres won't go amiss. Don't re-use any that has been drained/bled out.
