Back in the days? 99.9% of light aircraft are powered by piston engines! There isn't really an alternative. It's not until you get up to 8 seaters and above that turbine engines take over.

Fastandfurryous: This is twaddle, I'm afraid. with the sole failure of a master cylinder in the three Kas we have had in the family, reliability over 120,000 miles has been total.
No trim has fallen off, the aircon is very powerful, 42MPG is an average and nothing, nothing falls off. I have changed plugs at 30,000 mile intervals and never broken a plug, either. Taper fit plugs don't need drilling out of heads, just a little penetrant, when gently warm, then a ten minute wait before using a well fitting plug spanner, as we have been doing for more than 25 years. Only Ford servicing stopped me from buying another Ka. As you have said, it is heavy which is why the endura engine is used for low down torque. Being heavy, it is a better place to be than a Citroen in the event of a crash.

Re: Am I sad?
ItDontGo Any updates on your AX experience ?
Did you keep it long ? ....Have to agree with the majority on here AX was a great car my favourite was the 1.4D 3 door I ran for 5 years bit noisy yes but good budget motoring ....fancy another as majority of my mileage is around town ...also agree about the accident / crash protection .... I glanced off the back of a Transit @ 30 mph which had pulled across a T junction on me and then stopped as there was no gap on the other side ....I hit the horn instead of the brakes and the front literally dismantled itself in the road There wasn't a mark on the Transit
RIP AX
Ideally looking for a 1.4 TDi Has anyone done a conversion to a TDi

Re: Am I sad?
You should only get rid of any car if:-
replacing it is cheaper than fixing it
you don't love it any more
you actually find something you like better (& can't have that as well!)
any combination of any two - or all three!

Re: Am I sad?
Was thinking of buying an AX and fitting a rotating blade underneath to use as a lawnmower.
Drive it to the dump and get yourself a babe magnet.
DS3 should do you.
Personally, the DS5 would be my choice but I don't need a babe magnet!
It's all about money really. If you value the low running costs of the AX then maybe you wouldn't appreciate a more modern and expensive car.
I suggest you leave the AX at home though, if you go out on the pull.

Re: Am I sad?
I've pulled in the AX
Mostly the wheel trims
Love the DS5 as well but with only my local mileage my needs for a modern car are unnecessary

Re: Am I sad?
Get a Peugeot 205 for a babe magnet. Preferably a GTI, if you want to be really cool, but a 1.1 gl will do lol

Ever been inside a DS5....with that very stupid design , a WALL they call a console ! You have NO CHANCE of even "copping a feel"
