good info on Yaw Sensor

Post by morto »

just a good bit of information if people are interested about the Gyrometer / Yaw sensor.. as far as I know there is no test that ya can do with this off the car and there not cheap so abit frustrating

I couldn't watch more than 30 seconds, ok a minute or 2 - awful.

But the following are the electrical specifications:

Nominal supply voltage: 14 V.
Gyrometer-accelerometer sensor supply range: 8 V - 18 V.
Gyrometer-accelerometer sensor maximum supply current: 130 mA.

Yes abit of a laugh I just thought there is not much info at all on the Gyrometer, my C5 going to a guy on wed/thurs whos good with electrical stuff he said there is no way of testing the Gyrometer, as ive already had 2 second hand ones on I cant believe there all knackered … does any no any were I can buy a new Bosch Gyrometer, 0 265 005 715 with out paying silly Citroen prices, ive been on some car part places but thay say there all out of stock there about £350 if you don't go to Citroen..

I would just make sure you are 100% it is this sensor and not the wiring Andy - the faults can be triggered by a linked system - so I would double check.

Thank you Marc, ok so thinking about it if its not the Gyrometer as I have 2 second hand units they should all give the same faults? so I thought ive not tried one of the other Gyrometers since doing the Brake Switch and it can be both brake switch and Gyrometer, so I put a different one on yesterday and after calibrating everything up the same 4 faults were there on the ESP81 ,, but the faults were all Permanent and on the other Gyrometer the faults were all Temporary , the faults are, U1325 No communication with Gyrometer, C1502 Longitudinal sensor fault, C1315Lateral sensor fault, C1310 Yaw sensor signal fault, so same faults just on one Gyrometer permanent and temp on the other , and just to add to this the Brake contact signal P1536 on the EDC16CP39 Fault has come on as a permanent fault, correct me if im wrong but I thought that was the brake switch ive just changed but looking at the codes that fault is Parking Brake Switch Circuit Failure or are they both linked to the brake switch..

thanks
Andy

Update on this is ive just done a scan this morning with the same gyrometer that had given permanent faults on all codes and today all the codes are Temp ? but the brake contact signal fault code is still there and permanent so i cant clear the code

PSA servers are down for maintenance, so I can't double check your spec., but if you have the electronic parking brake which I think you do from memory - again this is controlled directly by the ABS / ESP ECU.

This is the Dynamic Stability Control (Electronic Parking Brake) Flow Chart. It should give you some idea of the interplay between the systems.

Vehicle’s lateral acceleration, Vehicle roll speed, & Longitudinal acceleration are received / Transmitted by 7804 (Gyrometer, Accelerometer & Yaw Speed Sensor) and the BSI. The signal type is CAN Is.

Vehicle’s lateral acceleration, Vehicle roll speed, & Longitudinal acceleration are received / Transmitted by 7804 (Gyrometer, Accelerometer & Yaw Speed Sensor) and the 7800 (ESP ECU). The signal type is CAN Is.

So the CAN Is is interconnected so a lot of the related components as seen by green on the diagram.
