Update om this- I have finally got around to putting the recon injectors (nice weather, no overtime, and impending smoke test) in and what a difference it makes- there's now no visible smoke when its flat out on the governor uphill in third, and it sounds a lot more 'dieselly'.
The old injectors were recessed arond the tips, only by a fraction of a millimetre, with the needles sticking out by an equivelant amount.
The reason for resurrecting this post is to clear up the seal mystery.
I got them from the Pug dealers, after much screen searching, and they do for all XUD diesels, turbo or not, part numbers as follows:
P0000198105 15p each
P0000198102 8p each
Making a grand total including vat of £1.08!!!!!- Bob Smith, you were conned!!!
I dont know which numbers were the copper ones and which the crush ones- I could probably have got away with reusing the copper ones but not the crush ones.

And my little addition to the above - The crush washers ('fire seals') aren't copper - I was wrong above. They are probably stainless steel. I got new ones of both when I had my injectors tested, but that was from a very sound shop where they throw that sort of thing in. As bxbodger says, they aren't expesnive, even from main dealers.
