Impressively the results as they stand at the moment are in for the SWVA January 25th Sale this afternoon at Poole. They have annotated the sales catalogue with the prices achieved.

The Austin Westminster in excelllent condition was sold for £13,200, well above the guide price, but it did look exceptional

In general though, some nice vehicles could be had for reasonable money.

Its Anglia car auctions turn today. There is one lot which I will be watching to see what it brings.

It may be nice to have a 1950's Peugeot D3A van for a few hundred pounds but they go for thousands. This has an estimate of £5,500 to £7,500. The street food/catering truck market really distorts the price this type of vehicle commands.
UK registered in 2012 and owned by the vendor since 2013. The vendor, who advises that he has always maintained the vehicle, describes it as rust‑free, in good, solid order, reliable and driving very well. It has always been garage stored. Previously it was used for local trips and shows but has had very little use recently, hence the decision to sell. It comes with a current V5. The speedometer records 14,553 kilometres.

Just looked at the cars Neil. It must be what tickles the market at the time. Some of the prices are ridiculously high, and others??? If I had a big enough garage and 100K. The pre 1940s seem to have gone out of fashion? The older Jaaags seem to vary very inconsistently to me as a non knower.

Thanks Neil, nice of you to take the trouble to check that out for me.

Bit surprised it didn't sell at what seems like sensible money to me, given its extreme rarity

....but like Pete says, lot of it's about 'what tickles the market'.

In a similar vein I was also surprised to see a very early G plate 405 4WD GL Saloon with just 24k on it made only £1.2k on eBay; seemed like a steal.

Oh to have the money and storage to pick 'em up, put em aside and sell 'em on when the market's more favourable (perhaps as soon as the summer).

...but for the moment I'd settle for undercover working, even I'm not keen enough to do Ball Joints and a Wishbone Bush in the Snow (bought myself a Fan Heater to put beside the Toolbox after it thaws!).

...likewise the Jag XJ-S Neil; lovely bit o' styling; and less than £4k. Assuming its not rotten (believe they've got a bit of a reputation for hard to repair rot), that can't be enough; surely.

Matthewsons is the next classic sale coming up next Saturday.

Catalogue here

I have already trailed the Dolomite Sprint needing work, and the very nice condition Vauxhall Victor Super, and the S8 Sunbeam motorcycle, but more cars have been added recently.

A Volvo Amazon, and a Standard Eight have appeared since I last looked, as well as what looks like an over-estimated limited edition 1989 Mini "Thirty"....to celebrate 30 years of production I presume.

H&H Online Auction 2nd February 2019

Sold a brand new...well delivery milage only....Ford Fiesta 950 from 1978

Estimated to fetch £6,500 to £8,500, but bludgeoned well through the £10K on-topic barrier, and reached a hammer price of £14,625. Haven't looked but you could get a real new one for that!
