2.0HDI Clutch replacement advice/help please?

Post by Qplate »

Hi just to ask for some advice regarding my Dispatch van 2013 (AHX eng 125bhp) the clutch has just started to slip and I'm getting conflicting information from suppliers ie ebay/gsf/euro some show the kits fit all 2.0hdi from 2007 others say when you provide specific info 120bhp ok but not for the 125? In fact very few seem to list kits for the 125bhp especially as i think I'll be changing the DMF and ideally want a LUK kit. Vans done 90k now, i have a previous owner receipt from citroen for a new clutch at 55k but the clutch is priced at £248 so very much doubt that included a new flywheel. Am I ok with any 2.0 kit & if so would the 140bhp kit be a stronger/safer bet?

Thanks in advance for any info

Regards AL

You actually have this engine and it's a 130.
DISPATCH III LONG PANEL VAN H1 TYPE 12 2.0 HDi 130 FAP (DW10CD) Manual gearbox 6

The OEM clutch is part number: 205316, £442.44
There is a Citroen Exchange Clutch kit, part number: 205809, £383.52

All inc. VAT and include 'A', 'B' & '2':

So if you search on 'Citroen 205316' or the other part, you should get a choice of others - a Valeo kit is about £300.

It looks a bit confusing as there are no less then 5 2.0 diesel variants!

Yours uses the same clutch as the 100BHP version and uses a conventional solid flywheel. All the others have DMFs and various clutch kits to suit. At least you are saved the hassle of a new DMF!!

These look to be the right ones: https://www.mister-auto.co.uk/clutch-ki ... _g479.html

Thankyou Richard, explains why I've spent hours on DMF searches and drawn a blank, was just about to post asking for assistance and read your post. Cheered me up no end as I've found a valeo clutch for £170 think i'll splash out on a crankshaft oil seal now whether i need it or not 😃

Thanks again guys been a brilliant help 👍

Just a follow up in case its of use i changed the clutch this weekend took a day & a bit plodding thru without a ramp I lowered/chocked the subframe LHS down about 2 inches as suggested somewhere, this allows you to slide the box over into a bit of a gap (you can leave strut in place disconnect 2 bottom bolts from hub, remove driveshaft, disconnect tie rod) you'll need a clutch alighment tool or fabricate one i used 15mm copper pipe & some tape as you wont be able to do it by eye you can only slide the box away about a 'foot' but enough to get in and swap the disc/plate & bearing. An assistant might be of help getting the box back as you need one person underneath on the 'engine' side to line up the box onto the RHS driveshaft and one person to 'ump' the box back inwards. You're also pushing/dragging & resting the weight of the box on the subframe where 2 alloy aircon pipes are located these need to be protected as piercing one with yourself in close vicinity will cause a lot of distress 😪
