Yes, you'll need to code it and any other keys you intend to use in the one session, as any keys not included in each coding session will be locked out the system.

That ebay one says it is the correct part number as I mentioned in my last post, so should be fine - the seller indicates it is a genuine one and for the price I would expect it to be so on the aftermarket.

As for Lexia, yes, somebody with their laptop. the VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) and Lexia (or Diagbox which contains the encapsulated Lexia software). As long as you have the confidential code you are ready to go. The procedure is contained within Lexia for key programming.

So just get the car battery a good charge in readiness.

Would I be ok doing a test but running the battery connected to the mains?

Also, before I unplug the battery, is there anything I need to do? I don't think I have a code for the radio.

Thank you so much for your help by the way Marc- it's really appreciated!

No worries.

No radio code needed, assuming this is an original head unit, it will already be VIN coded to the car.

I’m not sure I understand you about a ‘test’ ? Can you elaborate a little?

Just a quick question, I’ve been offered help by someone with launch diagnostics kit- can that help? (Apart from clearing the myriad of codes I have!)

I have no idea, but nothing is as good as the proprietary diagnostic tool used by PSA. Third party generic code readers lack the functionality to much more than read and clear codes.

No joy with all the parts back to where they were when the car was “bodged”. I think the locksmith may have been right.

I’m picking up a Lexia first thing tomorrow- is there any problem running it with Economy mode?

Not really just ensure your laptop is fully charged up, as you don't want that going to sleep in the middle of a session. Lexia may ask you to turn the ignition on and off several times depending on the procedure you are using.

Both keys are throwing this up. I think both of the chips are FUBARed.

Ok, so to rewind a bit, we need to ensure that it's communicating properly:

Did it detect the VIN ok?
Did you enter the RPO number (10661) for your vehicle?
Were you able to run a Global Test and did it detect all the ECUs that were present correctly?

Bear in mind that we're blind at this end apart from the info you tell us, so we need to be sure that everything else is working first, or you won't get very far with anything else :)

Sorry Marc, the global test worked fine, picked up everything (apart from ABS) and gave some faults which was expected. The VIN was auto-recognised as well. I did put in the correct RPO and the confidential code was accepted too.

I'm going to go have something to eat as sitting in a freezing cold Citroen wasn't the ideal start to the day!

If the keys are duff, would I be able to buy some old ones from the breakers yard and put the chip in my blade and reprogram? Alternatively, what is the cheap transpinder only C2's model number just to get me back on the road?

Thanks again Marc for your help and patience!
