So what do you call this pair of "self-charging" hybrids, sneaking into this thread.

A pair of Lexuses or a Pair of Lexi.

I do suspect that their electric only range will be difficult to find-certainly not plastered over the promo wording on the side.

According to Alan Partridge, a pair of Lexuses should be known as a pair of Lexii :-D

GiveMeABreak wrote: 19 Mar 2018, 22:53 So we’ve now had the first person killed by an Uber driverless car in America! They’ve now pulled the plug at present on further testing.

A woman was crossing the road and it hit her. I think they should dump the idea. We just don’t have the tech to do it evidently.

Lets wait and see what the accident investigation finds. Temporarily suspending their self driving testing until the accident investigation is over seems prudent behaviour to me.

Internal memo written a few days earlier leaks out

https://www.alphr.com/business/1010340/ ... l-accident

Journalist's closing comment:

Sadly, in the Tempe collision, the NTSB state that the autonomous Uber “detected but ignored” the pedestrian. If Miller’s email is to be believed, there are troubling parallels between the vehicle’s behaviour trajectory and that of its creators.

Came across this useful site that has a list of most EV's and detailed specs of them - might be useful for the EV spotters to know what they're looking at! :)

https://ev-database.uk/

The specs are a lot more detailed than your average car spec databases and go into a lot of detail about range, consumption, battery size, charging connectors and speed etc...

This evening...

Yes, I do enjoy parking the most different cars possible next to each other in the car park.

It always surprises me how vast the Model X doesn't look in person, in my brain given the S being "large family car" means the X should be the size of a small country. Having sat in one though they are vast inside.

Excellent - I'll chalk that up as a "success" then.

NOW, can you name who said that, & to who - & the song?

Now, why am I making one of my rare visits to this thread? Oh yes, parked in Newton Abbott this morning - an I8!

My son dumped his dog on me before Christmas and buggered off to Barcelona.

I don't like dogs at the best of times. This is a quite young but large mutt rescued from Italy that I had to walk at 06:00, 16:00 and 22:00 for an hour~an hour and a half each time.

It is very strong and boisterous and basically dragged me round the parks and industrial estates each time, leaping around and dragging fallen branches around - sticks weren't good enough.

As a result of all this walking I noted many Leafs and bugger all else apart from a single Zoe.
And a great many cars parked on the footpaths

While he was away his cat - dumped on my youngest daughter - had to be euthanised on New Years Eve. It had been there almost a year.
