Hmmmm....it failed again this morning then the fault disappeared just as quickly.
Just had a thought. When I first got the car the rev counted would very occasionally 'dip'...other times the radio would cut out for a fraction of a second. I always put it down to interference but now I'm not so sure. Perhaps all these "niggles" are connected?
Since the injector work was done the rev counter and radio work fine, although the "injector" problem still occurs from time to time (Although not as often as it did).
This is leading me to think there is an intermittent connector somewhere.
Does anyone know if the radio and/or rev counter are controlled by the ECU? Is there any common component linking the radio/rev counter/injection system?
Which sensor(s) does the rev counter use for measurement?

With Canbus/Vanbus electrics that are fitted to Berlingo's all of the systems are interlinked, ie. Radio/wipers/engine management/vehicles speed and so on, which allows such tricks as using the speedo reading to judge the need to increase the radio volume at speed, frequency of intermittant windscreen wipe and so on.
To fully explain Canbus electrics will take someone brighter than me, but basically Canbus (Controlled Area Network) or Vanbus (Vehicle Area Network) electrics work by using coded signals sent along a 'ring main' to turn on/off electric powered items. This saves having heavy and complicated wiring installed into vehicles that are becoming more electrically complex.
So the source of your problem could well be to do with the Canbus/Vanbus system.

I thought that under European Law this no longer applies? There was a load of stuff on the news about it a week or so ago. The work can be done by anyone now.( one of the better things to come out of euro legislation-its not all about straight cucumbers!! )

This post has been dug up from over 18 months ago. At that time the dealer was trying to get out of honouring the warranty as the 10k service had not been carried out at a Citroen dealer. As it happens, had the dealer carried out that service, they would have read the fault codes and downloaded the latest software updates, which obviously I did not do when I serviced the now(long gone) thing at my mate's garage.
Although "the work can be done by anyone" using OE parts, the fact is that your local garage hasn't got Proxia and an ISDN link to Citroen France to apply the software updates.

The dealer replaced the lift sensor as there was a "lift sensor fault" code registered in the ECU. they also replaced the "speed sensor" (TDC?) for good measure. The fault codes were cleared.
The car ran fine for 250 miles then the fault re-appeared for about 30 seconds before dissapearing again!
Is an actual software *update* needed to clear this problem?
