Mativoire Beige they call it - it means the interior is cream leather, but the fascia and central console trim all matches the paintwork at least.

They do look nice and retro for sure - will they affect the beam patterns in any way though - especially the reflective material that is usually at the back of the headlamp clusters?

All the "internals" are being replaced with Hella units and the glass front modified to be clear and not a lens as originally.
The primary aim is to keep the whole headlamp "silver" as per now and not like the Morrette ones that have a painted shroud. I hope that from a medium distance the car will retain the original look.

Oh good, looks like my intermediate drive shaft bearing is failing in the V.6 Activa
Any hints tips, best suppliers, good/must have tools "to find" etc ?

Started well, nice to see this and nice to release it with a little leverage and a few "Sharp taps"

Re: I am an Sado-Activaist with a V6 and now I am a Volcanist and suffer AX-isum as well
Quick question:
Pug 406 Coupe V6, are the drive shafts the same as the Xantia V6
I am struggling with suppliers in the Uk not knowing anything about Manual V6 Xantia's

Re: I am an Sado-Activaist with a V6 and now I am a Volcanist and suffer AX-isum as well
I am not sure that they are exactly the same (something I can't quite remember), maybe the ABS rings are different or something like that. I think that Xantia TCT or HDI 110 drive shafts would work. Assuming they are going into a Xantia V6...

Well, this intermediate bearing is being a total @@@@@@@@@@@er. Exhaust pipes on a V6 do not help.

Finally removed the shaft with the bearing, what a dreadful job on the V6 (when on your back)
Next challenge, how to get the collar and bearing off..........thinking hat on.

Re: I am an Sado-Activaist with a V6 and now I am a Volcanist and suffer AX-isum as well
I cut the outer race with a mini disk (Dremmel) and cracked that off in two parts....
The cage was all twisted up and a hell of a mess in there, balls all a mess, metallic paste inside.
With the outer shell off I I mounted the shaft vertically (splines facing down onto wood/bench) in the big vice.
I then heated just the collar with dual blow touches..........and BEAT THE BASTARD for 10 mins.
It fell off.
Citroen, simple, delicate and in need of a soft touch.......huhhg ?

Clean up on the other end all done, all washed out and smooth running.

Just to note
The magnets I placed to keep the caps on are NOT needed, a Xantia drive shaft (oem) CAN be pulled apart without destroying the needle bearings in the cup. You can see the retaining cage for the bearing needles
