Citroen C2 P1337 fault code

Hello, I've not been able to find out much elsewhere regarding this but one last chance before I take it to the garage...

My girlfriends C2 has had the emissions light on for a few weeks now so I borrowed a mates ODB reader and plugged it in to take a look. It's reporting a P1337 code which I can't seem to find against that model car anywhere. The app (and other 3 I tried) thought the car was a Honda so I'm thinking the code I got back might be completely unrelated anyway... The apps report it as the camshaft position sensor but it starts fine and doesn't appear to have any of the other issues relating to that.

The issue is the emissions light on the dash which has caused the car to throttle the engine power and also sounds like it's misfiring when idle. Appreciate it's not much to go off but if anyone knows of any common issues that could point me in the right direction

Generic OBDII readers are not really suited to providing more than basic information. Any code where the second digit is a ‘1’ means it is s manufacturer specific code.

If you post or PM the VIN of the C2 I will look it up in a little more detail for you. Being a manufacturer code will mean it can have slightly different meanings depending on the injection system / engine fitted, so the VIN will help.

A quick google suggests a coil pack, which would fit the misfire.

P1337 is linked to a Cylinder No 1 misfire. There may be several reasons why, of which a a replacement coil pack may be one resolution.

Will probably take to a garage and hopefully it'll just be something like a coil pack but I'd rather them try than me having to buy several parts to try out and hope it works..was just hoping to get a rough idea first. Sounds like something that should be done sooner than later!

You have the Bosch 7.4.4 Engine ECU on your C2.
The Coil Pack part is: 597099. £138.42 from Citroen inc. VAT

Unfortunately there isn't anything else I have on that code and without a Lexia diagnostic, it will be hard to get a proper idea of what it is.

I generally go aftermarket parts on my cars as I rarely notice any difference between them and the normally double price manufacturer parts! It might be worth taking it to a garage for a proper diagnostic then to avoid buying potentially the wrong part. Thanks for your help.

Try and take it to a garage with a Lexia. That is PSA’s diagnostic kit and is able to provide detailed information and troubleshooting. Other systems may just tell you the same code without the troubleshooting.

She took it to the garage and it did turn out to be the coil pack that had gone. Replaced that and the spark plugs and all is back to full power!
