Yes, it was raining when we visited it on our North Wales Holiday!Porthmadog today recorded the highest temperature so far this year in the UK - a scorching 32.6C.
At 1.54pm the North Wales seaside town was the hottest place in the UK with the mercury reaching the highest anywhere since January 1, pushing above 90 Fahrenheit.
And Porthmadog’s temperatures soared above exotic resorts and tourist destinations across the world including Palma in Majorca, Las Palmas in Gran Canaria and Valetta in Malta, where the temperatures were about 27C this afternoon.
It was also hotter than Moscow in Russia where the World Cup is being held which was about 26C, Athens in Greece at 28C and on a par with Cairo at 31C
