My old friend who I take shopping at Lidl weekly rang and asked if I could take her this afternoon, walking down the High Street she fell on her face on the concrete, an hour and a half for the ambulance to arrive then they took her to Gloucester hospital where we waited for three hours, they X-rayed her arm, said her elbow was fractured and they would have to admit her overnight for a scan tomorrow.
She's got the most impressive black eye and a black lump like an egg on her forehead.
It happened at about 2.45 and I've just got home 10.05.
What a day!

Re: What a day!
agg, a nightmare. They look bad and are painful, but faces/heads heal quickly at least.
My 87 year old Mother headbutted (falling forward) a stone wall the other dy. (All OK, just a deep head cut) but Bath RUHosp took 2-1/2 hours even to triage her !
After watching/listening to two nurses discuss their holiday for 15 mins I was less impressed. A major A&E unit with no triage system, WT# is that about ?

Re: What a day!
As I sat there waiting and watching the way things were done I thought ' this place could do with a Henry Ford '
They X-rayed her face because they thought she might have broken the bone above the eye but that was ok, the elbow they said was 'complicated' and needed a scan which they couldn't do until this morning.
Your mention of Bath RU Alisdair reminded me of another occasion for this same lady, she'd broken her wrist and Gloucester referred her to Bath because Bath had a South African surgeon who was a specialist in the field, we waited four hours to see him and were then seen by his junior, he was in South Africa on holiday.
