If it's a faulty injector then there's the cost of adding that on too though.

Oh well, worth a shot. I hope they can just sort it by cleaning it up then.

If it’s knackered, plenty of second hand ones available, 1 refurbed for £68

Re: Faulty anti pollution warning light
had the injectors cleaned on Tuesday, van runs better, certainly quieter, but still white smoke on start up from cold, and today e m l came on with the same message, faulty a p. Going to take MAF off and clean in some IPA see if that works, if not will replace, if that works, and stops the smoking, will keep the van, if not then its going. I am starting another line to my business and need a reliable van.

Be very gentle with it - those fine wires will break if you look at them too hard.
Mine was causing lack of power a couple of years ago - it was my third one.
Just sprayed it a few times with carb cleaner and it has been fine since..

I didn't touch it Steve, just put it in a container and poured the IPA over it, repeated, then left to dry. Refitted and road tested, touch wood, seems to have worked. Will see if it still smokes on start up in the morning.

Hmmm, carb cleaner, wonder if I should try some of that on my hedge trimmer. Its a 2 stroke, and it keeps cutting out .

You will have plenty left over after the MAF so you may as well.

Re: Faulty anti pollution warning light
Well still got white smoke on star up from cold and it disappears after a few revs. But have also got. a puff of black smoke every time you hit the throttle after changing gear. What's next , is it worth renewing maf at £75??

Re: Faulty anti pollution warning light
Initial fault was faulty air intake sensor, (MAF)??, also the garage said ,leaking injector. As per previous posts, I had the injectors cleaned, new seals and copper washers fitted. Last week the eel came on again, with the same fault on display as thread title. Removed MAF cleaned with IPA, fault disappeared. Next morning, started van, NO SMOKE at all, no slight misfire, since then the above have returned. I have disconnected the maf, so will see what happens in the morning. I'm going to book it in to garage and get EGR removed and cleaned, as I can't do it myself, due to no garage or pit, and a bad back.
TBH, I'm fed up with it, I have constantly paid out since I bought it 4 months ago. I paid 5k for it, and now its worth less than half that, after only 5 months and 3000 miles. I owe more on it, than its worth. Seriously thinking about getting rid, and going for the 2 litre, as they are supposed to be more reliable??

Re: Faulty anti pollution warning light
It's worth knowing which sensor as along with the MAF, there's also a MAP and IAT.
