You can of course compromise no doubt - the hub tool is just to make it more accurate for measuring exact centre of wheel, similarly for the other tool - but as you know Citroen tend to have a tool for everything!

As for the procedure - everything is officially done via Diagbox - the calculated values are compared against a set of reference values stored in the suspension ECU, and if these are within a certain range, nothing is done - if outside then diagbox can adjust the values itself within a range. It is important to get it right as with these electronic pumps, you don't want them doing any more work than they have to!

Hello dear colleagues.

I have one request a colleague which has a Hydractive 3+ suspension system. Can one of you give me the values in [mm] for "x" and "y" from the picture attached? Please take this measurement with the car on flat ground and the engine turned on.
x_y_c5.JPG
I know that probably it isn't the best way but I have tried to adjust my height using the tutorial from Marc and I want to double check with you these "x" and "y" values. Perhaps we can also share some more values and see if there are differences.

Thank you very much.

P.S. My new values are: x=38 [mm] and y=41,5 [mm]. Before I have not measured, but the rear of the car was always higher that the front => this had an impact also on my headlamps.

Hi Vlad - just a little confused - the 2 arrows in your diagram show the measurement from the centre cap to the top of the wheel arch - it this what you want? I ask because in the height correction notes, the " R1 " and " R1' " values are taken from the centre cap to the ground.

I'll get round to doing mine for you later Vlad - it's raining heavily at the moment and the freezer has decided to pack up!

Hi Marc. I need the distances between the centre of the rear and front wheels, to the wheel "wing", in the vertical direction, and not the radius of the wheel, with the engine turned on.

Thank you very much!

Ok, so here are my measurements - obviously, you need to allow for ground surface and tyre differences.

Front centre to wing = 41.5 cm
Rear centre to wing - 40 cm

Thank you very much Marc. What do you think, shall I leave the values like mine (41,5/38) or shall I modify the rear like yours? Tires dimensions are 225/55 R17.

Marc, one question for you.

When you lift the car on the HIGH position, do you have the confirmation message on your display?

Hi Vlad, I do get all the confirmarion messages through all heights on mine.

I had my height correctors replaced a couple of years ago when I had intermittent problems with the height not raising on command, which of course disabled directional lighting function too.

Sometimes it would behave normally, but they just replaced both sensors for me and has been fine since.

I have asked about the confirmation because, on mine, I had no confirmation message until I have changed the height manually from the sensor under the car. And after this, I have asked three different colleagues from a Facebook group of C5 owners for their values, and it seems that 38/41,5 it's a common set of values for all. Just the forth has 40/41,5. And he has no confirmation on the higher position.

Also, what I have seen is that in Low position, there is still suspension for the rear. That's why I assume it is the difference of about 0,5l of LDS when doing the level on Low position or with the system depressurized.

I don't get confirmation message on the highest session. Also my front seems a little high (compared to the rear). Does that mean my system needs setting up?

Not particularly, but I would suspect one or more height correctors.

Support the car manually on axle stands, and get some silicon grease sprayed on the corrector exterior, especially the lever arm of the linkage as this can become seized with rust.

I had both mine replaced when mine randomly would not rise on command and the directional demons went into backup mode. Replacing the height correctors resolved both issues. If getting it done at the dealer. They will undertake the height correction measurements after and ensure these are correct.

The instructions for adjusting height above mention they are for the 4 cylinder C5 X7; does anyone have instructions for the V6? Do the reference heights vary?

Don't change these values unless you know what you are doing. The correct procedure for measuring and fine tuning the heights are on the previous page here:

viewtopic.php?p=559127#p559127

The values in Diagbox are not measurements - they get converted once you key in the values from the measuring procedure.
