Not the bulb-to-holder, that's idiot-proof as you say Marc.
The holder itself has two "fins" plus two squeezable lugs. While the lamp recess only has two slots.
I read it's the fins that fit into the slots but it seems both will and feel quite secure.

Yes I recall now - the holder does have a few lugs that fit into the housing - they are not super resilient either. I do remember having lost a couple of lights myself int he past pulling these out, where the LED got caught on the housing as the wire with the holder was extracted - resulting in a fishing exercise!

Acutely aware of the X7 steering rack issue, my heart sank when I began noticing a sort of rotational notchiness I'd not noticed before yesterday.
Well today, it seemed a little more pronounced and found by holding it at the top, I could "rock" the steering wheel back and forth slightly, ditto if holding at the bottom. Hopefully, it's just a nut needs tightening? If so, I'm cautious about pulling off the airbag and have no idea what else might need removing to check where this looseness is originating from.

On a brighter note, I'm pleased this average is still holding....

MOT booked next week (dodged the new rules this year!). I may get away with advisories if I can find the will to replace the sidelight again beforehand but it definitely needs two front tyres and possibly some brake work.

Talking of tyres, I'd typically have them fitted to the rear and the worn rears brought to the front but is that applicable to a car with ABS and ESP?

Can't believe the mpg is still holding steady at 64.1!

Car is now in the hands of the MOT gods and I'm expecting at least advisories for both front tyres along with brake/handbrake efficiency advisories/fails.

Got a warning that it initially failed the emissions test - then he warmed the engine up and it passed.

A local motor factor can get Febi droplinks at a very reasonable price. A quick google suggest they're ok?

A spokesperson said something about replacing copper with silver, or vice-versa, which suggests penny-pinching putting people's lives at risk?
Coincidentally, on my return journey I was caught in a traffic jam which local traffic report said was due to a vehicle fire.
