So mild here I've just been out shopping wearing just a tee-shirt...

And jeans and appropriate underwear of course...

And shoes...

An actual usable precipitation radar picture... annoyingly hard to find these days...what app is it you're using for your weather forecast there?

I remember short trousers Timmo at ten years old we couldn't wait to get into longs. :-D

Shorts seem to have become the all year round uniform for postmen around here, look stupid when the knees turn blue.

It's called Weather Pro, made by Metogroup. I use the iPhone version but I think there is an Android version as well.

I tried loads of weather apps for my phone a few years ago and settled on this one. Although there is a yearly subscription if you want to use some of the advanced features like long range forecasts (>5 days) and hourly forecasts, it seems to be by far the most accurate at actually getting the weather prediction right, and has a good user interface with lots of features like precipitation radar, temperature and humidity graphs, sunshine hour graphs etc...

It's my go to source for weather reports - I ignore what the TV and Radio say as their reports are always too generic and not specific enough for my area!

Thanks for that, will take a look. Be nice if it would show me actual old-fashioned isobar charts as well...That might be a wish-list item too far though!

As a matter of fact it does do isobar charts as well. :) But if that's what you're looking for check out their free companion app called MeteoEarth.

It does isobar charts, animated wind direction and much more all on a 3D globe a bit like Google Earth. Looking at an animated wind direction and intensity display swirling around on a 3D globe is quite mesmerising, especially somewhere where there is a storm or a weather front in action...

Yes, jeans 99% of the time for me... Formal trousers, which I hate, are only for weddings, funerals and the like... Likewise my feet are always clad in trainers/running shoes/cycling shoes except for very formal occasions when I have a very awful pair of formal jobs that hurt like hell...

The only time I wear shorts is when cycling and running. Winter running and cycling are done in tights...

I'd wear shorts more but I hate to inflict my knees on the general public

Ditto :) It was a sign that you were all grown up!

I believe it has a lot to do with kudos and bravado...

And allegedly the frequency at which replacement uniform is handed out and the relatively short lives of postie's long trousers...

Nah Jim, it's so the dogs can get a good look at what they're biting.

:rofl2: My dad was a postman most of his working life and dogs hated him right to the end of his life... I'm sure dogs can tell if a person is or once was a postman...

My ex had a lovely, placid and friendly Springer Spaniel who was wonderful with everyone - except dad...

Her new dog, a Cockapoo, dislikes me intently after once seeing me dressed in all my winter cycling gear... It must have really spooked her as she'll not come near me now and snarls at me!

It's a bit like when the children misbehave... When they're good they're mum's children but when they're bad they're dad's
