Ahh, so even parking transgressions are loosing their personal touch now

There’s a problem with ANPR. If it’s snowing and the front of the vehicle is covered with snow then ANPR can’t read the number plate. That happened all the time when O worked at the airport so all the barriers had to be left open and it was a free for all

But it's a great game seeing if you can tailgate in behind a 4x4 and get away with no or only a partial plate read... That little game makes going shopping nearly bearable! :-D

Shopping and bearable are totally mutually exclusive terms

The only place I ever go shopping is Trago Mills, you can park free right outside and stay as long as you like, it has several nice eating places, a steam railway - best value in the country, a large motoring and tools dept, a fantastic garden centre and they sell practically everything else you could ever want and at the best prices anywhere. Takes less than an hour from here, mostly on dual carriageway and what you save at the pumps filling your car up pretty wells pays for your journey. I also get my oil there at about £12 for 5 L.

Its also got numerous things for kids to do and probably covers a couple of hundred acres, all sorts of wildlife including peacocks wandering about free. You could easily spend a day there. We make a list and go about once a month. Its in the top ten businesses in the country for turnover. End of commercial.

Any other shops I'm with you Jim.

Excellent news Gibbo. Hope that you weren't put to too much hassle about it.

No Paul a simple polite letter to the company's appeal site did the trick, maybe a Christmas thing or maybe they know the set up's a mess and only take payment from those who can't be bothered to appeal.

I don't believe in paying to park, so never do. If it means paying I don't park there. Simple!

I think the last time was Maastricht, about 3 years ago, left the STS in an underground car park for the weekend - cost more than the hotel!

The problem with Gloucester is that there is absolutely nowhere to park without paying and it ain't cheap, if you're fit and don't mind walking half a mile you can park on an empty building site for £3.00 all day but other than that...............tough!

On street parking is all short stay and metered or reserved for residents, multi story £6.00 for 4 hours and don't be five minutes late back or else!

also why I go to Trago Mills, free parking for as long as you like, cheapest prices anywhere and plenty of eating places plus a steam railway, you could live there if you wanted to. 8-)
