activa,
A c5 [xx(] (with hydractive 3) is far less comfortable than a DS or a SM!
After driving a last generation class S, I found out it is more comfortable than a DS: Magic carpet ride like the DS, but total silence, control, soupless, luxury (leather, wood, design). Also, if you're in a hurry, just press the pedal and it flies! [:0] Like a spaceship (this one is for Tom) [;)].

I think for the success of a big Cit again, they need to get their act together in the name. DS, was 'deesse' (or variations), C6 will look like 'sea sick'.
The rear end style of the old DS is truely french, Renault have stolen the shaking that ass, of the DS for Megane, a spot Citroen should have exploited.
The headlights of DS even now, say big Citroen and style. A couple of years ago at Birmingham motorshow, I recall seeing an Indian company making a small coupe/hatch in fireglass on Renault Twingo/Clio running gear. The size was about the same as a Clio, but the whole front end looked like a DS!

look at the DS style twin headlamps! and on the San Motors site the cabriolet. Come on the nose is a DS without the chevrons.... Better looking than a Pluriel. On Coming soon, the coupe which I saw several years ago, and the sports 4x4, looking more like a DS / Matra Rancho cut n shunt, but.. that nose is so destinctive.

Even VW has stolen the DS front design.

Now lets face the truth. It's very hard to beat the Xantia mk2 HDi with ECU revision and non-HA HP suspension, even for Citroen.
Non-HA is the right choice, like Rolls Royce Phantom proves it.

Great: front view is lovely and low-profile, a stealth approach. Side view owes a lot to the DS, great to see it referenced. Rear view looks like the fat arse of a chav's mum going down Chatham high street to the Poundshop. (How do I know there's a Poundshop on Chatham High Street? Don't ask!) What were they thinking?!?

I really like them styling of new C6 although I have to agree the rear view isn't perfect....it is however, in my opinion, much better looking that its other french relatives, the Peugeot 607 is a really unattractive car...and has a fat arse and tacky interior. The Renault Vel Satis is an interesting concept but a bit to tall and slab sided for an executive, neither have the elegance of the C6. I remember the launch of the XM (I was 7!!) and really loved the car, think elements of the DS influenced the styling of this too, vaguely similar two box outline {although XM v.angular} and think that the glazed 'C' pillar on XM references the brightwork 'C' pillar of DS. Both cars feature high level indicators. XM style also influenced by SM: low nose, high tail, kink in waistline. Considering all these influences the car has a unique style all its own...could never understand why it got such a bad press as a design.
